Duncan, 38, was asked to exit his vehicle. Officers engaged him in an altercation. Backup officers arrived and claim they encountered Duncan exhibiting aggressive behavior. Officers deployed a police dog. After Duncan was restrained, he experienced a medical emergency. Officers administered multiple doses of Narcan. His cause of death was never disclosed.

On March 20, 2021, at approximately 8:50 p.m., Toledo Police officers initiated a vehicle chase near Monroe Street and Bancroft Street in Toledo, Ohio. The driver, identified as 15-year-old Nasir Devon Islam, lost control of the vehicle while attempting a turn during the chase, causing it to overturn and collide with a brick building. Islam was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Two passengers, aged 14 and 15, sustained injuries and were hospitalized.

On March 18, 2021, deputies from the Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office arrived at 14554 Pecan Road in Keithville, Louisiana, to execute an arrest warrant for an individual other than William "Billy" Walls, a 68-year-old male. Walls, a neighbor, permitted deputies to search his mobile home. During the search, Walls became agitated and attempted to re-enter his residence. For officer safety, he was detained and placed in the back of a patrol car. While in custody, Walls experienced a medical emergency. Deputies removed him from the vehicle and initiated CPR until emergency medical services arrived. Walls was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The indictment alleges that Chapman handcuffed Walls without reasonable suspicion of a crime, leading to his asphyxiation. They found Anton Lamont Burnes firing a handgun from a pedestrian bridge. A Bloomington officer fired his service weapon at Burnes, but it was not immediately clear whether he was struck by the gunfire. Burnes continued shooting his handgun from the bridge for the next 10 minutes, but police did not return fire. Burnes eventually climbed outside the bridge's safety fencing and shot himself, falling onto I-494 below and dying.

Arlington Police were contacted to help locate a felony suspect out of Arkansas wanted on multiple offenses, including five counts of rape and six counts of sexual indecency with a child. Around 5:22 p.m., officers located Juan Jimenez-Salas and stopped him in a parking lot. As officers approached the vehicle, he reportedly pointed a handgun at the officer on the driver's side. On 03/17/2021, at approximately 1: 45 a.m., officers from the Madison Heights Police Department began pursuing a vehicle without a license plate. The pursuit was terminated at the border of Royal Oak. Royal Oak Police Department officers then spotted the same vehicle and attempted to stop it, but the driver, SouhibZokari, did not stop. Police continued to chase west on 11 Mile Road with speeds exceeding 90 mph untilZokari lost control of his car and crashed into a light pole on the side, killing him.

Around 2:30 a.m., police responded to a crash involving a Ford pickup at a CVS. A Wylie officer, who was handling an unrelated traffic stop at the time, was called to the scene of the crash. The officer found the body of a woman who had been seriously injured and saw a man, later identified as Shawn Myers, lying on the ground with a rifle. At 7:14 p.m., deputies from the Escambia County Sheriff's Office responded to an armed disturbance at the Surf and Sand Hotel. The caller reported that a man was battering a woman and was armed with a gun. Upon arrival, deputies found the man and the woman inside a hotel room. After the vehicle passed the construction area, the chase resumed.

The vehicle continued onto State Route 8 South and then turned west onto Boston Mills Road. Due to the terrain, curved roads, and high speeds, troopers canceled the chase again. The vehicle veered off the left side of the road, struck a guardrail, rolled over, and came to rest partially down an embankment.

Ramon Smith, 22, and Ari'onna Nevaeh Taylor, 16, were pronounced dead at the scene. Two other occupants sustained injuries and were transported to a local hospital.

On March 15, 2021, the Berks County Department of Emergency Services received a 911 call from a woman reporting that Stephen James Hughes was threatening her with a knife. Muhlenberg Township police responded to the home on the 700 block of Wagon Wheel Lane. After Hughes ignored verbal commands to drop the weapon, an officer fired a Taser. A second officer then opened fire, striking Hughes once in the chest. He was transported to Reading Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The Berks County District Attorney ruled the shooting justified.

She was stopped at a traffic light at the intersection of US-1 and Tramway Road in Sanford when deputies initiated a high-speed chase of a teenage driver who refused to stop for a traffic stop.

On March 14, 2021, 51-year-old Kelly Shannon Bowen abducted a woman at gunpoint in Reidsville, Georgia, prompting a multi-county pursuit involving several law enforcement agencies. During the chase, Bowen fired at pursuing officers and the victim’s family. A Georgia State Patrol trooper was grazed in the head by gunfire. The pursuit ended on Interstate 16 near Mile Marker 132 in Bulloch County, where officers used a PIT maneuver to stop the vehicle. Bowen was shot during the ensuing standoff and later died at the hospital. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation conducted an independent investigation of the incident.

On March 14, 2021, Yonkers Police Department officers responded to a welfare check for Peter Kastsaridis, 50, at 11 Livingston Street in Yonkers, New York, around 10:45 a.m. Upon arrival, Kastsaridis fired at officers from inside the residence. Police returned fire, prompting Kastsaridis to barricade himself, resulting in an hours-long standoff. At approximately 6:40 p.m., officers entered the residence and discovered Kastsaridis deceased on the floor with a semiautomatic rifle nearby. The investigation concluded that he died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
