Franklin PD received a call Monday evening on 07/25/2023 around 6:15 for a welfare check at the Artessa Apartments in the Cool Springs area of Franklin when a woman who identified herself as an ex-girlfriend told police that a man was threatening to harm himself and he had a gun. Police arrived, spoke with Steven Tropia who eventually came out with a handgun. Officers shot and killed him.

Westminster PD was on “routine” patrol in the 8800 block of Lamar when they saw a silver SUV parked on 88th Avenue. The officer exited his vehicle and tried to talk to a female in the SUV. She allegedly had a gun in the car but did not use it. The officer shot and killed her. BWC below.

Maine State Police shot and killed 28-year-old Frank Foss Jr. Sunday after he allegedly pointed a handgun at Maine State Police SWAT while they tried to arrest him for possession of a firearm and bail violations from a prior domestic violence incident. Police searched a wooded area around a home on Hankerson Road in Chelsea and found Foss in the woods, alleging that Foss pointed a gun at the team member. They shot and killed him.

Seward PD allegedly saw a car driving erratically and escalated a chase. Alaska State Police soon joined them and both agencies hunted the car until it crashed, ejecting both passenger and driver. Passenger Gregory Green died.

Columbus Division of Police were trying to traffic-stop a vehicle they felt to be stolen and initiated a chase. The driver sped up to flee away from being chased and with police after him, he ran over a 4-year-old boy on a tricycle in a parking lot who later died from his injuries.

Rochester PD received a ShotSpotter alert that shots had been fired and arrived on Seventh Street to see a white BMW leaving the area. Police chased the BMW until it struck a pole and the 31-year-old man died.

Montgomery County deputies received a call that someone had stabbed 4 people. Police arrived in the 4300 block of Harvard Street and found him with a knife. He was shot and killed by Officer Justin lee.

The same officer Justin Lee, a devoted MAGA Trump supporter, was suspended without pay in October of 2023 for his involvement in the J6 attack on the Capitol. Officer Lee was documented to attack other police officers during the J6 event. Story also linked below.He was arrested, not for the murder of Ordonez, but for his prior involvement in January 6 in D.C. Arrested on Thursday, Oct. 19.

A release from the D.C. United States attorney’s office said that Lee, who is from Rockville, Md., was facing “felony offenses of civil disorder and assaulting, resisting, or impeding certain officers” as well as several other misdemeanor offenses. He was facing a total of seven counts, according to his federal indictment.

It is unclear why he was allowed back on the beat after storming the Capitol but because he was sent back to work undisciplined, Franklin Castro Ordonez died.

Albuquerque PD and SWAT attempted an arrest at an apartment complex on Tramway Boulevard. The man had a gun charge and was also wanted for questioning in a recent crime. Fredericksburg PD were called to an event of a man with a knife abusing an older man and demanding money from bystanders. He allegedly charged toward police with the knife and was shot and killed. The killing was Justified by Commonwealth Attorney Humphries.

Police arrived on College Drive about a fight over custody. Dantonior Stalling allegedly raised a gun at police and was shot and killed. Nearby, police found 18-year-old Dyshon Williams dead, allegedly killed by Stalling. Gurley PD chased a vehicle for traffic violations. Gurley PD escalated a 50-mile chase until the Hollywood and Gurley PD were both in high pursuit of the alleged traffic violation until the fleeing vehicle crashed into the car of Matthew Deandre Norwood, killing him. He had been a third-party motorist. Norwood was a spiritual young man who left a family and church congregation devastated at his senseless death over a dangerous police hunt of a driver guilty only of a traffic code violation.

Sullivan County deputies initiated a chase for a vehicle full of teenagers. Police felt the car was stolen. As police escalated the chase, the driver was approaching the intersection, entered the right turn lane and attempted to turn right onto Old US 41. The vehicle was traveling too fast to negotiate the right turn and collided into the driver’s side of a 2006 Chevrolet Impala that was stopped at the stop sign on Old US 41 at US 41. The man whom they crashed into, Jimmy Mayall, 88, of Oaktown was killed.

A woman called 911 and told the dispatcher that she saw an unhoused man acting "a little aggressive" and walking back and forth along the shopping strip, "yelling at himself" and "hitting himself." Police arrived and saw the man described walking through the shopping center. A Phoenix police cruiser tried to flag the man down. From a distance, officers saw the man stumble and fall into a brick landscaping wall near Union Hills Drive. Edited BWC footage shows one of the officers telling the man to stop as he has his hand on top of a wall having his arms pulled down, being ordered to sit down. Two officers wrestled him down. They then picked him up, cuffed him and walked him over into the shade of a nearby storefront. The unhoused man became unresponsive and died.
