On June 4, 2025, around 4:45 a.m., San Antonio police officers responded to a burglary call at an apartment complex on Talavera Parkway. They found Justin Holliday, naked and covered in mud, crawling toward them while rambling incoherently. Officers took physical control of Holliday and forced him into double handcuffs, claiming it was for "safety reasons." Despite his apparent mental and medical distress, officers restrained him on the ground, restricting his movement as he struggled. After some time in restraints, Holliday stopped moving. Officers then called EMS and started CPR, but he was pronounced dead at the hospital at 6:04 a.m. No signs of a burglary were found.

On June 4, approximately 5:00 p.m., Trooper Caleb Cannon of the Indiana State Police attempted a traffic stop near Cory, Indiana. The driver, later identified as Aaron Krout, refused to yield and triggered a low-speed pursuit. Clay County deputies deployed stop sticks, deflating his tires; Trooper Cannon then executed a PIT maneuver, causing Krout’s vehicle to veer into a cornfield and strike the patrol car. Krout exited the vehicle after about an hour, stripped naked, and resisted verbal commands. Deputies extricated and handcuffed him without further incident. Observing signs of controlled substance impairment, officers transported Krout to Terre Haute Regional Hospital. While under medical care, Krout experienced a medical emergency and died. Vigo County Coroner Travis Norris scheduled an autopsy, and the Indiana State Police continues the investigation.

On June 4 at approximately 5:56 a.m., Oklahoma City officers served a court-approved search warrant at a home on Evanbrook Terrace tied to alleged sex crimes. Jose Martinez fled out a back door armed with a pistol. Sergeant Justin Kuehn pursued him on foot into a wooded area near Southeast 59th and Bryant. Martinez dropped the pistol over a fence, then leaned down to retrieve it. Kuehn ordered him to stop; Martinez did not comply and reached for the firearm. Kuehn fired once, striking Martinez. Martinez was pronounced dead at the scene. At the time of the shooting, officers had been actively seeking Martinez for over a week in connection with multiple rape and forcible oral sodomy charges. Kuehn has been placed on administrative leave pending investigation. The Oklahoma City Police Department’s Critical Incident Unit and Office of Professional Standards are reviewing the shooting.

On June 4, Arizona Department of Public Safety officers and Gila County deputies pursued a 34-year-old man connected to two separate drive-by shootings in Phoenix. Officers used spike strips on State Route 87 to stop the vehicle, and Gila County deputies executed a PIT maneuver, forcing it off the highway. On June 3, at around 1:23 p.m., Pueblo police officers responded to a shoplifting report at Famous Footwear in the Pueblo Crossing shopping center. Antonio Herrera fled the store armed with a firearm, ran toward the Colorado State Patrol office. In an attempt to stop his flight, one police officer intentionally ran over pedestrian Herrera using a marked patrol vehicle. Herrera was immediately administered medical care on the scene but died from his injuries.

On June 3 at approximately 3:17 p.m., a Shelby Township officer initiated a traffic stop on a white Dodge Caravan driven by Thomas Antonio Jackson. Jackson fled on foot as the officer approached. The officer deployed a Taser, which did not stop Jackson. During the chase behind nearby businesses, Jackson produced a handgun. The officer fired when Jackson allegedly reached for the weapon, striking and killing him. Jackson was transported to a local hospital and pronounced dead. The Macomb County Sheriff’s Office is conducting the investigation, and the officer has been placed on paid administrative leave.

On June 3, 2025, Denton County deputies attempted to serve an arrest warrant at a residence on Chisum Road. Upon arrival, Kenneth Wayne Jones allegedly pointed a handgun at deputies. In response, deputies opened fire and killed Jones. He was transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased. Upon arrival, officers encountered 35-year-old Ronald Gainer Jr., who emerged from an apartment armed with a handgun. An officer-involved shooting ensued, during which Gainer was struck by gunfire. He retreated into the apartment but was taken into custody shortly thereafter without further incident. Gainer was transported to a local hospital by the Los Angeles Fire Department, where he was pronounced deceased.
Investigations revealed that earlier that evening, Gainer had been involved in a domestic violence incident with his girlfriend, who fled the apartment. Subsequently, Gainer exited the apartment and discharged a firearm into the air and at an adjacent apartment building, prompting the emergency call.

At 12:59 a.m., Wolcott Police responded to a call about a man "freaking out" on Dale Avenue. Officers found Joseph Jackson behaving erratically and speaking incoherently. Jackson was handcuffed despite resistance. EMS arrived and administered a sedative. While in the ambulance, Jackson went into cardiac arrest. He was taken to Saint Mary’s Hospital in Waterbury and pronounced dead at 2:32 a.m. Officer Bryan Spiotti’s body camera recorded the incident. The Inspector General is investigating and an autopsy was conducted; results are pending.

Deputies responded around 12:52 a.m. to a call about a suicidal man, later identified as Christopher Knels, at a residence on Interstate Avenue North in East Fairview. Other individuals in the residence were safely evacuated. Deputies attempted to contact Knels without success and called in the Williams County Negotiation Task Force. The task force reached Knels by phone, but he later exited the residence and pointed a firearm toward law enforcement. A McKenzie County deputy opened fire, striking Knels several times. He retreated into the residence, where deputies found him and attempted medical aid. Knels was transported to Sidney Health Center and pronounced dead. A firearm was recovered near his body. The North Dakota Bureau of Criminal Investigation is conducting an independent investigation.

On June 2, Memorial Villages officers attempted to pull over a vehicle lacking tail lights. The driver sped away, and despite spotting the vehicle a second time, officers did not activate pursuit due to department policy. The driver then ran several red lights on Westheimer Road, collided with multiple vehicles near Gessner, and continued eastbound. At Fondren and Westheimer, he crashed into another car, struck a pole or building, and his car burst into flames. Officers attempted to extinguish the fire, but paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene. Multiple occupants in other vehicles were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. Police claim that they called off the chase just before the crash.

On June 2, Evergreen Park police responded to a report of a stolen vehicle at the Speedway gas station located at 3040 W. 95th Street. Officers detained a woman found inside the station, while a man inside the suspicious vehicle fled eastbound at a high rate of speed. Police initiated a pursuit along 95th Street. During the chase, the driver lost control and collided with another car at the intersection of 95th Street and Campbell Avenue. Emergency responders transported the driver to a nearby hospital where he later died from his injuries. The other motorist sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was also hospitalized. Evergreen Park Police Department is conducting the crash investigation in coordination with Cook County authorities.

At about 3:15 p.m., officers responded to a domestic violence call on the 6400 block of Passo Via Drive in El Paso’s Upper Valley. As officers approached, a Latino male exited the home and opened fire. Officers returned fire. A female officer was shot and hospitalized in stable condition. The man was shot and taken to a hospital where he died. The shooting is under investigation by the Texas Rangers, El Paso Police Crimes Against Persons Unit, and Internal Affairs.

Police responded to a report of a jogger shot in the leg near 61st Street and Harvard Avenue. While officers aided the victim, a man emerged from behind a fire truck and opened fire on them. Officers returned fire and the man fled in a vehicle. The chase ended near 61st Street and Delaware Avenue, where the man again shot at officers. Officers returned fire and killed him. The jogger was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. The man’s identity has not been released.

At approximately 2:21 a.m., an officer attempted to stop a vehicle that ran a red light at Winbourne Avenue and North Foster Drive. Several people ran from police on foot. One male reportedly pointed what looked like a weapon at the officer. The officer opened fire and struck him. He was taken to a hospital where he died. The investigation is ongoing.

On June 1, 2025, Cherokee County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a domestic violence call at a residence on Still Lake Drive. Outside, they located a woman suffering from multiple stab wounds. She was treated on scene and transported to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital in serious condition. A man remained inside the residence, refused to exit, and was reported to be armed. The Cherokee Multi-Agency SWAT team was activated, bringing a militarized multi-jurisdictional force to the scene.
