On March 7, 2025, at approximately 10:58 PM, Toms River Township Police and Seaside Heights Police chased a juvenile driver in a white BMW. Police escalated the chase for failure to stop, reaching a documented speed of 118 mph. The juvenile crashed into a Toyota Camry at the intersection of Route 37 and Route 166. The driver and front-seat passenger of the Camry were killed on impact. Two backseat passengers sustained critical injuries and were transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center.

On March 7, 2025, Hartford Police Department personnel were monitoring an Instagram Live video showing William Bowen, 21, displaying what appeared to be firearms while walking around Hartford. Officers from the Greater Hartford Auto Theft Task Force located Bowen on Homestead Avenue around 2:30 p.m. As officers converged on him using unmarked cars, Bowen displayed a handgun, prompting Officer Robert Bohm and Detective Benjamin Lee to fire multiple rounds. Bowen fled on foot, discarding two firearms along his path. Detective Joseph Walsh encountered Bowen emerging from an alley on Magnolia Street and, after reportedly ordering him to "Drop the gun," fired multiple rounds, fatally wounding Bowen. Two Glock firearms, matching those seen in the Instagram Live video, were recovered along Bowen's flight path. An autopsy confirmed Bowen died from gunshot wounds to the torso and extremities. The investigation is ongoing.

On 03/07/2025, at approximately 6:25 p.m., a District Heights police officer attempted to stop an Infiniti SUV in the 6000 block of Marlboro Pike. The driver initially stopped but then fled northbound onto Addison Road South. The officer lost sight of the vehicle and broadcasted its description. Officers from both District Heights and Capitol Heights police departments later spotted the Infiniti and attempted another stop. Moments later, the Infiniti collided with four vehicles in the 1200 block of Addison Road South. Three-year-old Zoey Rose Marie Harrison, a passenger in one of the struck vehicles, was transported to a hospital where she was pronounced dead. Her mother sustained non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the Infiniti was arrested and hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. The involved officers were equipped with body-worn cameras, and two vehicles had dash cameras, all of which are under review as part of the ongoing investigation.

On 03/06/2025, Charleston Police Department officers were conducting a search for someone involved in a recent shooting and robbery that left a victim in critical condition. During the operation, officers observed Disnime Mitchell, 23, entering the Dollar General Store on West Washington Street. As Mitchell exited the store, members of the SWAT team identified themselves and ordered him to surrender. Mitchell allegedly drew a firearm and pointed it at the officers, prompting a SWAT officer to fire one round, striking Mitchell in the chest. Officers and medics rendered aid at the scene, and Mitchell was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Mitchell was wanted on first-degree robbery charges related to a February 23 incident in which a victim was shot multiple times and robbed.
