On April 19, 2025, Chula Vista police responded to a family disturbance involving a man with access to multiple firearms. Several family members had fled the home and were hiding outside. The 56-year-old man exited the residence with his hands in his pockets, dropped a firearm on the steps, and sat down with the gun in his lap. He ignored repeated commands to put his hands up. On April 18, 2025, 34-year-old Wayne Volz held his parents hostage for several hours at their home in Fort Meade, Florida. During the standoff, he pistol-whipped his mother and threatened his father's life. On April 18, 2025, around 11:40 a.m., a Fulton County police officer stopped 29-year-old Rashan Jarvis Cofield near the Budgetel Inn & Suites on Fulton Industrial Boulevard for jaywalking. Upon discovering Cofield had an active warrant, a South Fulton police officer arrived to assist. As officers attempted to take Cofield into custody, he pulled a pistol from his pocket and began firing while fleeing. South Fulton Police Lt. Charles Cook was struck three times and collapsed. Fulton County Officer Zahir Muid pursued Cofield, returning fire, and was also shot. Cofield sustained a gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene. Lt. Cook underwent surgery and is recovering in the ICU; Officer Muid was treated and released.

On April 17, 2025, Paulding County deputies responded to a welfare check at a residence on Hemlock Glen in Dallas, Georgia. On April 17, 2025, Robert Smith, 35, of Cookeville, Tennessee, was wanted for aggravated assault out of Nashville. He allegedly kidnapped a woman and her child in Atlanta, demanding she drive him to Nashville at gunpoint. They stopped at a Buc-ee’s in Calhoun, Georgia, where the woman sought help inside the store. When Calhoun police arrived, Smith fired at officers and carjacked a customer’s vehicle, fleeing north on I-75. During the pursuit, he fired at deputies before fatally shooting himself. On April 17, 2025, at approximately 12:50 a.m., Medina County Sheriff's deputies attempted to stop a vehicle on I-71 in Harrisville Township for an equipment violation. The driver, 31-year-old Chris Nerantzoulis, drobve away. Medina County deputies escalated a high-speed pursuit into Cuyahoga County. Strongsville Police deployed tire deflation devices, disabling the vehicle. Nerantzoulis exited the car, fled on foot, and fired several shots before fatally shooting himself. Deputies did not discharge their weapons during the incident. Nerantzoulis was under investigation by the Marion County Sheriff's Office for two armed robberies, including one that occurred the previous evening.

The man, 45-year-old Geoffrey Shyam Stirling of Laguna Niguel, allegedly attempted to use the officer's taser. An officer opened fire, striking Stirling. On 04/16/2025 at approximately 7:45 p.m., Anaheim Police responded to a shooting at the Kona Motel on North Brookhurst Street where a man was shot in the stomach. Officers identified Danny Lee Cuelho, 51, as the driver of a white Chevrolet Silverado and began a pursuit lasting about 45 minutes at high speeds through freeways and surface streets. Multiple PIT maneuvers were attempted before the final successful PIT near the 1400 block of West Memory Lane in Santa Ana, where the vehicle crashed and caught fire. Eight Anaheim officers opened fire after Cuelho refused to exit and was believed to be armed. A handgun was recovered from the vehicle. Cuelho died at the scene despite CPR attempts. A passenger exited safely and was later released.

On April 14, 2025, Henry County Sheriff's deputies attempted to stop a maroon Dodge Durango driven by Dewuan Hampton for erratic driving on State Road 3 near Indiana Avenue in New Castle. The chase concluded in the 800 block of 26th Street in the Golden Hill neighborhood, where Cortez's vehicle collided with a police K-9 unit, causing minor injuries to an officer.As officers attempted to box in the vehicle, Cortez revved the engine. In response, SDPD SWAT officers Sgt. Richard Curtis and Acting Sgt. Bryan Shields fired multiple rounds, striking Cortez. Officers removed him from the vehicle and initiated lifesaving measures, but he was pronounced dead at the scene. A rifle and a handgun were recovered from the truck.

Dwayne Eduh, 24, was involved in a police standoff on Interstate 20 near Old Ninety Six Indian Trail in Aiken County. He was wanted in connection with a double homicide in Newton County, Georgia during a Walmart shooting. On April 13, 2025, California Highway Patrol officers attempted to stop a vehicle in connection with street racing. The chase escalated, exceeding 100 miles an hour, and continued onto the westbound Riverside 91 Freeway. It ended when the vehicle collided when chased the wrong way with a semi truck near Lincoln Avenue. The impact caused the semi to crash into a wall and ejected the driver, 55-year-old Stephen Palacios of Rancho Cucamonga. Palacios was transported to a local hospital and pronounced dead. A passenger in Palacios’ vehicle also sustained moderate injuries.
