Deputies located the man in a Swift tractor-trailer at the Love’s Travel Stop on Old Pipers Gap Road. During the encounter, the man shot two deputies. Officers opened fire and killed him. Kenneth Edward Bailey, the rapper known as Young Scooter, died on March 28, 2025—his 39th birthday—following a police pursuit in southeast Atlanta. Atlanta Police responded to a report of gunfire and a domestic dispute on William Nye Drive Southeast. As officers arrived, two men ran from the back of the residence. Around 12:30 a.m., California Highway Patrol officers attempted to stop a suspected stolen Infiniti traveling over 100 miles per hour. The driver did not stop. Police escalated a chase until the vehicle exited Highway 4 and ran a red light at East Leland Road and Gladstone Drive, crashing into another vehicle. Clarissa Cano, a 27-year-old mother of a 5-year-old daughter, had just left home to visit her grandmother when the driver ran a red light and slammed into her red car at high speed, pushing both vehicles through a wall. On March 26, 2025, multiple law enforcement agencies executed a drug-related search warrant at a home on Kestrel Court in Olivehurst. During the operation, a man inside the residence exchanged gunfire with officers. Marysville Police Officer Osmar Rodarte was shot and later died at a hospital. Arkansas State Police chased a white Dodge Ram after the driver, Torkilo Hambrick, failed to stop for a traffic violation near mile marker 173. Near mile marker 191, an Arkansas State Police trooper conducted a PIT maneuver—a tactic known to be potentially lethal at speeds above 35 mph—causing the truck to overturn and crash. Laterrika Woods, the 29-year-old sister of Memphis rapper Big Boogie, was a passenger in the vehicle. She was ejected during the crash and died at the scene. Two other passengers were seriously injured. Experts have long warned that PIT maneuvers at speeds above 35 mph carry an extreme risk of fatality, and at 100+ mph, the probability of a deadly outcome is considered astronomically high.

Cedrick Turner, 49, died on March 25, 2025, in a single-vehicle crash during a police chase. Thomas County deputies were pursuing Turner after a hit-and-run incident in Colquitt County. The chase reached speeds of 100 mph. Near Thomas County Middle School on Highway 319 North, deputies attempted to disable Turner’s vehicle. On March 25, 2025, a man suspected of robbing a bank on Cox Creek Parkway in Florence, Alabama, was killed during a shootout with law enforcement after a vehicle chase. Around 7:40 a.m. on March 23, 2025, a juvenile called 911 reporting her mother was being assaulted and kidnapped by her ex-boyfriend, who was armed. The man forced the woman into a Mercedes sedan and drove away from an apartment complex on Oro Vista Road. Officers from the San Diego Police Department pursued the vehicle and deployed spike strips on Tocayo Avenue. After the vehicle stopped, the woman escaped. The man then shot and killed himself in the vehicle as police surrounded the scene.

On March 23, 2025, San Antonio Police responded to a domestic violence call around 2:15 p.m. at a residence near Tahoka Boulevard and Julia Place. A woman had been assaulted by her boyfriend, Max Dominguez, 27. When the officer arrived, Dominguez partially opened the door but refused entry. The officer pushed the door open, causing Dominguez to fall back on a bed. Dominguez then grabbed a machete and rose toward the officer. On March 23, 2025, Johnston County deputies responded to a disconnected 911 call from a residence on Chaney Drive in Garner. When dispatchers called back, 53-year-old Christopher Pugh answered and denied making the call, but a woman could be heard in the background pleading for help. Deputies arrived and heard gunshots. After obtaining a warrant, they entered the home and found Christopher Pugh and his wife, 54-year-old Teresa Adams-Pugh, both dead from gunshot wounds. Family members said there were no known signs of domestic violence. The incident is being investigated as a murder-suicide.

On 03/22/2025, at approximately 7:16 p.m., a mass shooting occurred at the intersection of Pearl Street and Lamar Street in downtown Jackson, Mississippi, following Hal's St. Paddy's Parade. Among the victims, 21-year-old Cortez Jerome George was shot and killed by multiple gunshots. The investigation led to the arrest of an off-duty University of Mississippi Medical Center Police Department officer, Michael McLeod, who was off duty at the time of the incident. Arrested with him was his brother, Marquavius McLeod, who had also participated in the shooting.

On March 27, 2025 and charged with first-degree murder and multiple counts of aggravated assault. Following his arrest, McLeod was terminated from his position at UMMC PD. As of the latest available information, he is being held at the Hinds County Detention Center in Raymond, Mississippi, and has been denied bond.

On March 22, 2025, a deputy with the Bryan County Sheriff's Office attempted a traffic stop near Sterling Curve on Georgia State Route 144. The driver in a white BMW did not stop, and officers escalated a chase. The driver passed vehicles and lost control in a curve, striking another car and sending both vehicles into the woods. The fleeing driver's vehicle hit a tree and burst into flames. The driver was killed. The other driver sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Georgia State Patrol is investigating.

On March 22, 2025, Reno Police responded to reports of an attempted armed carjacking on Silverada Boulevard. The man, later identified as Marcus Gifford, 28, was wanted in an armed kidnapping and domestic violence case in Roseville, California. After failing to carjack the first vehicle, he allegedly forced another person to drive him to Sparks, Nevada, where he successfully carjacked a third vehicle. Nevada Highway Patrol spotted the stolen car and escalated a pursuit. The chase ended on Sutro Street in Reno when Gifford crashed into a tree. As officers attempted to take him into custody, Gifford shot himself and died at the scene. No one else was in the vehicle.

Upon arrival, officers found a two-year-old child inside the home, whom they safely escorted out. The woman subsequently barricaded herself inside the residence. On March 22, 2025, at approximately 1:52 p.m., the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department received a call from a suicide hotline concerning 68-year-old Robert Fanello, who was reportedly suicidal and armed. Fanello indicated he had been physically abusive toward his wife over the preceding two days. Upon arrival, officers learned that Fanello was refusing to disarm and that his wife remained in the garage with him. As officers approached, they heard a gunshot from inside; Fanello later explained he fired because he felt the police response was delayed. Officers observed Fanello outside his home holding a firearm and attempted to negotiate, ordering him to drop the weapon. When Fanello pointed the gun at the officers, Officer Larry Jones discharged his weapon, striking Fanello. Fanello was taken into custody and transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The LVMPD’s Critical Incident Review Team is investigating the incident to assess the officers' procedures, tactics, and training related to this use of force.

Officers Puetzer and Jiang encountered 41-year-old Nathan Hoang, who fled on foot carrying a screwdriver. Officers tased him and placed him in restraints. Hoang showed signs of medical distress and was hospitalized, where he died on March 21, 2025. The Alameda County Coroner reported the death was caused by cardiac arrest, with methamphetamine toxicity, an enlarged heart, and physical exertion listed as contributing factors. Multiple investigations are underway, including reviews by the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office and police internal affairs.

On March 21, 2025, around noon, law enforcement responded to a call regarding a man experiencing a psychotic episode at 34 Cook Road in Constantia, New York. A New York State Police trooper engaged in a struggle with the man, during which the trooper was struck with a metal object and sustained a minor head injury. The altercation continued, and an Oswego County Sheriff's deputy opened fire and shot the man. He was transported to a Syracuse-area hospital, where he was pronounced dead around 2:30 p.m. His father, Alton Dignean, stated that he had had a severe head injury with multiple hematomas in the past, which caused his mental health issues.

The driver initially stopped but then fled. A “be on the lookout” alert was issued, and Prince George's County Police located the Genesis at a nearby gas station. The driver refused to stop, and officers escalated a chase. The Genesis collided with an SUV at the intersection of Martin Luther King Jr. Highway and Belle Haven Drive. The SUV’s adult female driver was killed, and a juvenile passenger was injured. The fleeing driver was arrested and hospitalized in critical condition. The Maryland Office of the Attorney General’s Independent Investigations Division is investigating.
