On December 19, 2024, U.S. Marshals located 28-year-old William Abney, a suspect in the December 17, 2024, murder of Nicholas R. Mizikar, at a residence in the 2600 block of Saratoga Avenue in Cleveland, Ohio. As officers approached, Abney produced a firearm and shot himself. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Abney was wanted in connection with the shooting death of Mizikar, who was found with a gunshot wound inside a vehicle in the driveway of a home on Saratoga Avenue.

On 12/19/2024, at approximately 2:00 p.m., deputies from the Greene County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle near Highway 412 and Highway 49 in Paragould, Arkansas. On 12/19/2024, Gahanna Division of Police officers responded to a call regarding fraudulent credit card use at the Springhill Suites hotel in Gahanna, Ohio. Upon arrival, officers encountered a male individual who exited the hotel through a back window. The individual was armed with a handgun and refused to comply with multiple commands to drop the weapon. The individual placed the gun to his own head and then pointed it at officers. In response, four officers fired their weapons, fatally striking the individual. The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation is investigating the incident.

Peter Francis Hodge Jr., a former Connecticut police dispatcher, was involved in a series of hit-and-run incidents in San Francisco's Union Square area. He allegedly drove onto sidewalks, striking two pedestrians—a woman and a girl—causing non-life-threatening injuries. Shortly thereafter, he struck a bicyclist, who managed to escape without serious harm. Hours later, police located Hodge near the Dior store on Post Street. During the confrontation, Hodge, dressed in his security uniform, ignored commands and eventually raised a handgun, prompting six officers to open fire, resulting in his death. A firearm was recovered at the scene. The San Francisco Police Department is conducting an internal investigation into the incident.

The driver ran a red light at the intersection of South Main Street and Madison Boulevard, leading to a four-vehicle collision involving a passenger truck and two other vehicles. Several individuals sustained serious injuries, including 16-year-old passenger Branden McCain, who was airlifted to a hospital in critical condition. He succumbed to his injuries on December 28, 2024. The incident is under investigation by the Roxboro Police Department.
