Thurston police received a call that a woman had shown up at someone’s residence and demanded fentanyl. Police were called and located the woman who was allegedly driving with a flat tire in a stolen vehicle. Police chased the vehicle and placed spike strips which flattened the second tire on her right side, causing her to swerve into head on traffic where she crashed into a bystander and killed a person in that vehicle. The chase was allegedly initiated for a failed attempt to procure fentanyl and driving erratically with a flat tire. This is one of several police pursuit fatalities that have occurred since Washington’s governor Jay Insleee eviscerated a previous band on police pursuits in 2023, leading to Washington police chasing and causing fatal accidents again.

On September 7, 2024, at approximately 2:14 p.m., Newton County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to reports of a shooting at the Salem Glen Apartments on Salem Glen Way in Conyers, Georgia. Upon arrival, deputies encountered an off-duty Rockdale County Sheriff's Office deputy who had discharged his firearm, fatally wounding 20-year-old Ivan Felton of Covington, Georgia.

According to multiple witnesses, Felton was observed firing shots at a resident of the apartment complex and pursuing the individual. The off-duty deputy, who resides in the area, witnessed Felton chasing the resident and intervened by shooting Felton. Felton was pronounced dead at the scene. No other injuries were reported.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) is conducting an independent investigation into the incident at the request of the Newton County Sheriff's Office. The collision resulted in the deaths of 23-year-old driver Kadrian Lamirical Harris and her front-seat passenger, 23-year-old Malik Christyle Henderson. Harris's one-year-old daughter, Riley Harris, sustained critical injuries, was transported to a local hospital, and survived.

On September 6, 2024, at 9:00 PM, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office (JSO) responded to a shooting at 5116 Gate Parkway N, Jacksonville. Ian Piscitelli, 28, and Briana Arreola, 27, were wanted in connection with shooting into an occupied dwelling. During negotiations, Arreola threatened a shootout rather than arrest. SWAT and negotiators were deployed to de-escalate the situation. Officers overheard Arreola asking Piscitelli for a firearm. Two gunshots were heard, and upon entering the apartment, officers found Piscitelli holding a firearm, both victims dead from gunshots.

On September 5, 2024, at approximately 6:30 p.m., officers from the Mount Pleasant Police Department responded to a domestic violence call. During their response, a man drove by the scene, and officers attempted to initiate contact. The man failed to stop and continued driving through intersections.

Near the corner of West Henry Street and North Jefferson Street, the man, while still in his vehicle, fired multiple shots at a Mount Pleasant police officer inside a patrol car. The officer was not injured. The man fled, and officers pursued.

The chase ended when the man lost control of his vehicle near the intersection of Highway 218 and 185th Street. Officers approached the vehicle and found him deceased.

Upon arrival, officers heard screams from within the residence and entered the home. Inside, they encountered 58-year-old John Edward McCloud, described by authorities as an unhoused individual. During this encounter, Officer Julian Mestre discharged his firearm, striking McCloud.

Officers initiated emergency medical care and requested medics. Despite these efforts, McCloud was pronounced deceased at the scene. The Allen County Coroner's Office later confirmed that McCloud died from multiple gunshot wounds, ruling the death a homicide resulting from police action.

The FWPD placed Officer Mestre on administrative leave, adhering to standard department protocol. Mestre, who joined the department in June 2018, has a history of three reprimands related to vehicle incidents and received an award for excellence in 2021.

On 09/06/2024, at approximately 11:00 p.m., Wayne County Sheriff's deputies observed two motorcycles traveling at high speeds on U.S. 70 near Goldsboro, North Carolina. The motorcycles lacked visible registration plates. Deputies escalated a chase exceeding 100 miles an hour during which 19-year-old Bradley Bridger Gill from Raleigh lost control near the I-795 West exit, veered off the road, and collided with a tree. He sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the crash site. Bradley Bridger Gill was a recent graduate of Broughton Senior High in Raleigh and was employed as a driller at Bridger Drilling.

Tipton county deputies allegedly tried to traffic stop Ricky Reed, but he did not stop. Police escalated a chase and he fled to his home. He locked himself in. Police brought SWAT and made forcible entry into the home where they shot and killed him, stating that he had made a sudden movement. Police did not say whether he had been armed or not. Reed had had a number of serious run-ins with Covington police over decades and was known to them when they tried to traffic-stop him and pursued him to his house with SWAT.

A school bus converted to be an RV was parked illegally in the city of Lincoln. Police were called and some sort of disagreement and sued with a man inside of the school bus. Police claim that he fired shots at police and drove away. Police tracked him down and, the man fled and hid in a nearby home. He allegedly escaped to a roof after a fire was started. Police state that he held a rifle and they shot and killed him. It is unknown what started the fire in the home, SWAT incendiary devices or whether it was deliberately set.

On 09/04/2024, Taylor Alexander did not stop when Iberia Parish Sheriff's deputies attempted to pull him over. Police escalated a high-speed chase northbound onto LA Highway 3195. Alexander missed a curve, crossed into the southbound lane, exited the roadway, and overturned in a ditch.

On September 3, 2024, at approximately 10:30 p.m., Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) officers located an unoccupied stolen vehicle in the parking lot of the Walmart at 3200 East Platte Avenue. Officers coordinated with extra-duty CSPD officers inside the store to identify the vehicle's occupants. They identified 29-year-old Tyler Jacob Ben as the driver and a female associate as the passenger.

As Ben and his associate exited the store, officers approached them. Ben produced a handgun. Officer Nicholas Cassalia fired at least one round, striking Ben. Officers rendered medical aid until medical personnel arrived, but Ben succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

The female associate was detained, interviewed, and released without charges. No officers or other individuals were injured during the incident. Per CSPD policy, the El Paso County Sheriff's Office is investigating the officer-involved shooting.

On September 2, 2024, at approximately 1 p.m., Glenwood Springs Police Department officers patrolling the Glenwood Meadows Shopping Center recognized 55-year-old Richard Grande, who had an outstanding felony warrant related to firearms charges. When officers attempted to contact Grande, he drew a firearm. The officers retreated, and one officer discharged their weapon, striking Grande.

As Grande moved toward his vehicle, the officers repositioned and engaged him with additional gunfire. Grande sought cover behind a vehicle, and officers maintained their positions until additional resources arrived. Upon approach, first responders pronounced Grande deceased at the scene. Investigators recovered a high-capacity firearm and believe Grande had access to additional ammunition. The officer involved has been placed on administrative leave, per department protocol.

Roanoke PD responded to a “shots fired” call and arrived at the Econo Lodge, where they allegedly heard shots being fired. Police found a man and a woman dead from gunshot wounds and Wayne Hubert Shortt was locked into a room.. Police called SWAT and escalated a standoff. After sometime of firing gas into the home, police made forcible entry and found a man dead from suicide under police duress.

On 09/01/2024, Newton County Sheriff's deputies pursued Andrew Roselius, 37, who was allegedly driving with a hostage. The chase began in Iroquois County, Illinois, crossed into Newton County, Indiana, and returned to Illinois, ending at the intersection of U.S. Route 24 and Concord Road in Sheldon. Roselius exited the vehicle and exchanged gunfire with officers. Deputy Brandon Schreiber was critically wounded, and Roselius was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities later confirmed no hostage was found in the vehicle.

On September 1, 2024, at approximately 1:39 a.m., officers from the Prairie Village Police Department attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a silver Chevrolet Malibu for a traffic violation near 63rd Street and State Line Road. The driver did not stop. Officers claim that they did not initiate a pursuit but observed the vehicle going eastbound at a high rate of speed, crossing into Kansas City, Missouri.

The Chevrolet then traveled across a grassy median, struck a small tree on the west side of 62nd Street, vaulted across the street, and collided with a large tree, causing the vehicle to disintegrate. The driver, the sole occupant, was ejected and pronounced deceased at the location. The person remains unidentified as of the date of this update. The Kansas City Police Department is investigating the incident.

DeSoto police states that a man traveling with two women and a small child knocked on a residential door in the middle of the night asking for water and appearing frantic. When police arrived, the man allegedly threatened to shoot them. They chased him to the 1200 block of Springbrook Drive, and shot and killed him while he was standing next to the child.

On September 1, 2024, at approximately 5:30 a.m., Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) officers responded to a vehicle collision at a McDonald's drive-thru in Southeast Washington, D.C. Officers found 26-year-old Justin Robinson unconscious in his vehicle, which had crashed into the restaurant. A firearm was observed on his lap.

As Robinson regained consciousness, officers gave commands for him not to touch the weapon. According to police reports, Robinson moved toward the firearm, prompting two officers to discharge their weapons, fatally wounding him.

Justin Robinson was employed as a Violence Interrupter with the D.C. Office of the Attorney General's "Cure the Streets" program, which works to reduce gun violence. His death sparked protests and calls for accountability.

On 09/01/2024, at approximately 3:30 a.m., a Bonneville County Sheriff's deputy attempted to stop Joshua Ramirez, 31, after Ramirez's vehicle nearly collided head-on with the deputy's patrol car on Woodruff Avenue in Idaho Falls. Deputies and Idaho Falls Police officers jointly escalated a high-speed pursuit. Police executed a Pursuit Immobilization Technique (PIT) maneuver, causing Ramirez's car to stop near the 1400 block of North Woodruff Avenue.

Police alleged that Ramirez made erratic movements, including pointing his fingers in a "shooter’s stance" toward deputies and attempting to restart the vehicle. A deputy fired nine shots, striking Ramirez multiple times. Ramirez was transported to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 4:10 a.m.

A subsequent search of Ramirez's vehicle revealed a small folding knife with the blade in the open position on the floor just in front of and to the left side of the driver’s seat. He was unarmed during the encounter. The East Idaho Critical Incident Task Force conducted an investigation, and the Bonneville County Prosecuting Attorney determined that the deputy's actions did not constitute criminal conduct.

On 08/31/2024, officers from the Genesee Township Police Department responded to an incident at the intersection of Dort Highway and Robert T. Longway Boulevard in Flint, Michigan. A male individual, age not disclosed, was involved in the situation. During the encounter, the individual died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

On 08/31/2024, 28-year-old Ricardo “Ricky” Resendez was killed when his car was struck by off-duty Harris County Precinct 6 Constable Rigo Vivar, who was driving his personal vehicle in the wrong direction on Canal Street near Live Oak Street in Houston. Vivar was reportedly speeding, and witnesses observed his erratic driving prior to the collision. Resendez, who was running an errand near his home, died at the scene. The constable was later fired by the Harris County Constable’s Office.

Family members of Resendez have publicly demanded justice, stating that the incident was preventable and that Vivar’s actions should not go unpunished. They expressed frustration over the ongoing investigation and the lack of charges thus far. The family is calling for accountability and for Vivar to face legal consequences for his actions.

Corey Cobb-Bey had allegedly killed an officer and injured to others, fled and was found by police of the I 35 in Louisville. Police shot and killed him, stating that he had gotten out of the vehicle with a long gun.

Corey Cobb-Bey was a Moorish sovereign citizen who had created social media content in which he is seen approaching police officers, engaging them, questioning them what they were doing asking why they were there.

According to Dallas Police, Cobb-Bey had announced on social media that he was planning some kind of event.
On August 29, 2024, he reportedly walked up to Dallas PD Officer Darron Burks who was parked in a marked squad car and opened fire. He killed Burks and in the ensuing response from other officers, he injured two others, including one critically.

Corey Cobb-Bey identifies as a Moorish American National, a population that considers themselves to be sovereign and immune from US laws.
