Richland County deputies and the SRT team arrived to a domestic violence call. When police appeared, a gunshot was heard, a drone sent in and a man inside was found dead. Maricopa County Sheriff's deputies executed a high-risk search warrant in Mesa on March 21, 2024, around 3:00 a.m. in a residential area near University Drive and Ellsworth Road. The warrant was for a man described as "armed and dangerous." When deputies approached the home, the individual fired at the officers, prompting a standoff. The man barricaded himself inside his residence before emerging with a rifle, at which point he confronted three members of the SWAT team. Off-duty Summerville officer Anthony DeLustro was involved in a fight which began as verbal argument in the Chik-Fil-A parking lot with Michael O’Neal. The argument escalated into a physical brawl initiated by DeLustro who was both described and also filmed by bystanders to be the main aggressor. O’Neal attempted to defend himself and then entered his vehicle and was seen trying to escape from the attack. At that point, the wife of Officer DeLustro grabbed, subdued and restrained O’Neal to prevent him from driving away from the confrontation. DeLustro is seen entering the vehicle of O’Neal and shooting and killing him point blank. O’Neal was the son of a decorated North Carolina retired officer and grandson of the respective police chief of Winston-Salem. DeLustro stated that he identified himself as police and presented his badge, O’Neal’s family emphatically denies this story could be true, stating that O’Neal came from a law enforcement family and would not fight police. There is sufficient video and eyewitness evidence suggesting that DeLustro was the main aggressor and O’Neal was unarmed, retreating and attempting to avoid the confrontation while he was murdered by the officer who had forced himself into his vehicle. Officer Anthony DeLustro, a former NYPD cop who left NYPD for unknown reasons and became Officer DeLustro in small-town Summerville PD, was fired and arrested and charged for the murder. He is currently held without bail awaiting what the Solicitor General promises will be a trial in the near future. Updates to this case will be posted as they become available.

On March 19, 2024, federal ATF agents served a search warrant at Bryan Malinowski’s home in Little Rock, Arkansas. Malinowski allegedly shot at the agents during the raid, striking one agent. In response, agents returned fire, fatally wounding Malinowski. The injured agent was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. Malinowski died from his injuries on March 21. Authorities were investigating his involvement in illegal firearm sales, as he had allegedly resold firearms without proper licensing.

On 03/19/2024, Port Orange Police Department officers were dispatched to a residence on the 5900 block of Jandon Court in Port Orange, Florida, in response to a reported mental health crisis. Officers approached a man at the residence. During the encounter, the man exhibited unspecified threatening behavior while holding an unidentified object. Officers opened fire, shooting and killing the man. Medical personnel pronounced him dead inside the home.

On March 21, 2024, at approximately 5:10 a.m., the Los Angeles Police Department's Robbery-Homicide Division, in conjunction with the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) unit, executed a search and arrest warrant at an apartment complex in the 7900 block of Reseda Boulevard, targeting 39-year-old Zeff Rocco, a suspect in a series of armed robberies. Upon arrival, officers attempted to contact Rocco via telephone, instructing him to surrender. Instead, Rocco emerged onto a third-story balcony armed with a 5.56 caliber semiautomatic "ghost gun" rifle, loaded with 39 rounds and equipped with an additional loaded magazine. He then jumped from the balcony to the ground below, dropping the rifle in the process. As Rocco attempted to retrieve the weapon, officers issued commands for him to stop. When he failed to comply and reached for the rifle, officers discharged their firearms, striking him. Rocco was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead. No officers or bystanders were injured during the incident. The LAPD's Force Investigation Division is conducting a comprehensive review of the officer-involved shooting.

On March 19, 2024, at approximately 9:18 p.m., deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department's Lakewood Station responded to a residence in the 15900 block of Indiana Avenue in Paramount regarding a restraining order violation. The victim reported that her ex-boyfriend, 40-year-old Jose Acosta, had violated a protective order by arriving at her residence and demanding entry. Deputies located Acosta driving an orange Pontiac vehicle stopped in the eastbound lanes of Artesia Boulevard at Downey Avenue in Long Beach. As deputies positioned their vehicles behind Acosta's car to initiate a traffic stop, he suddenly reversed at high speed, crashing into the front end of a patrol vehicle with such force that both vehicles became inoperable. Acosta then exited his vehicle holding a knife with an approximate three-inch blade. Despite deputies' commands to drop the weapon, Acosta advanced toward them, prompting a deputy-involved shooting. Acosta sustained gunshot wounds to the torso and was pronounced dead at the scene. One deputy was transported to a local hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries sustained during the collision. The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department's Homicide Bureau is conducting an investigation into the incident.

On March 18, 2024, at approximately 8:00 p.m., the Coldwater Police Department requested assistance from the Michigan State Police (MSP) Emergency Support Team to serve a multi-count felony arrest warrant, including charges of home invasion, on 32-year-old Richard Wilkinson at his residence on Lucky Drive in Coldwater, Michigan. Upon arrival, Wilkinson confronted officers while armed with an AR-style rifle. A member of the MSP Emergency Support Team opened fire, resulting in Wilkinson's death. The trooper was placed on administrative leave. The First District Investigative Response Team and the MSP Lansing Lab are investigating and will submit the findings to the Branch County Prosecuting Attorney.

Winterville Police tried to stop a vehicle, believing it to be a person wanted for domestic violence. The vehicle fled. Police chased it until it crashed head-on into a SUV. Marqese Perkins, the fleeing driver was killed when his car burst into flames.

On 03/18/2024, Decatur Police attempted to arrest 38-year-old Rocky L. Dupin in connection with an armed robbery. During the arrest, Dupin pulled a gun from his waistband. Officers Dawson Roberts and Tanner Brummitt responded by opening fire, fatally shooting Dupin.

The pursuit lasted approximately four blocks, ending when the driver lost control of the stolen vehicle after hitting a speed bump in the 1900 block of Dayton Street. The vehicle collided with several parked cars, including one occupied by 24-year-old Oliver Jose Zeledon Gongora. Gongora was fatally injured in the crash.

The driver of the stolen vehicle, a 17-year-old male from Aurora, was apprehended at the scene. He was transported to a local hospital for evaluation, treated, and released into police custody. The suspect faces charges of second-degree murder, aggravated robbery, and vehicular eluding causing death. Due to his age, his identity has not been publicly released.

On March 16, 2024, at approximately 5:30 p.m., Deputy Christopher Howell of the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office encountered Paul Smith, 40, at a 7-Eleven gas station near U.S. 19 and New York Avenue in Hudson, Florida. Smith was wanted on charges of domestic battery by strangulation.

Deputy Howell approached Smith, who was standing near his vehicle at a gas pump, and instructed him to exit the car. Smith entered the vehicle and attempted to drive away. Deputy Howell fired his Taser while still hanging onto the car door. He then discharged his firearm, striking Smith. The vehicle stopped, and Smith was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
