Police received multiple 911 calls about a man swinging a knife at cars in the 500 block of 16th Avenue. Officers found Sean Ybarra in the 1900 block of 2nd Street still armed with a knife and reportedly yelling at passing vehicles. On May 11, 2025, Mansfield Police officers identified a vehicle with a stolen license plate entering the city on FM 917. The vehicle, occupied by a driver and a front-seat passenger, fled from officers and entered U.S. 287 southbound. The vehicle continued to evade officers and entered the city of Midlothian. At approximately the 4000 block of West U.S. 287, the vehicle was traveling southbound in the northbound lanes before colliding with another vehicle. The driver was ejected and pronounced deceased at the scene. The front-seat passenger was transported by CareFlite to Methodist Central Hospital in Dallas in critical condition. All occupants of the second vehicle were transported to Methodist Mansfield Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. The vehicle was confirmed stolen from the city of Grand Prairie.

Police in Mansfield located a vehicle with a stolen license plate around 11 a.m. on Towne Crossing Boulevard. The vehicle refused to stop and police escalated a chase onto U.S. 287. The driver entered the northbound lanes while driving southbound and crashed head-on into another vehicle near the 4000 block of West U.S. 287. The driver was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene. A front seat passenger was critically injured and airlifted to Methodist Central Hospital in Dallas. Occupants of the struck vehicle were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. The vehicle had been reported stolen out of Grand Prairie.

At approximately 7:00 a.m. on May 11, 2025, a detained individual was found unresponsive in the medical unit of the Elkhart County Correctional Complex. CPR was initiated by correctional staff, and emergency medical services were dispatched. The individual was pronounced dead on the scene by Concord medics. The Elkhart County Homicide Unit and the Elkhart County Coroner's Office are conducting an investigation. The person’s identity has not yet been released pending family notification.

On May 11, 2025, South Whitehall Township Police responded to an incident at the Weis Markets grocery store located in the 1500 block of North Cedar Crest Boulevard. During the police response, 45-year-old Timothy D. Vanbilliard of Emmaus was involved in an undisclosed incident. He was transported to the emergency department at Lehigh Valley Hospital–Cedar Crest, where he was pronounced dead at 2:59 p.m.
An autopsy was conducted on May 13, 2025, by the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office. The cause and manner of death are pending further investigation, including toxicology and microscopic studies. The incident is under joint investigation by the South Whitehall Township Police Department, the Lehigh County District Attorney’s Office, and the Coroner’s Office.

On 05/10/2025, around 1:30 a.m., Cushing police attempted a traffic stop when they noticed a firearm in the vehicle driven by Curtis Russell. Russell refused to provide identification and continued driving. Officers pursued him through Cushing and into Lincoln County. A deputy later located Russell at a rural property at East 790 Road and 3500 Road. Russell exited the vehicle, ordered the deputy to leave, and fired at him. The deputy retreated and called for backup. Russell continued shooting when Oklahoma Highway Patrol and other officers arrived. Troopers opened fire and killed him.
