Ashley Irvin was driving down Thomas Lane in Augusta when a high-sped police chase slammed into her the car, killing her. She had been a mother of two. Her family complained that nobody from police contacted them nor explained what happened for a prolonged period and demand transparency and accountability.

Violating a Hands Free law, the person being chased possibly holding a cell phone in one’s hand while driving was given as the reason why this deadly high-speed chase was escalated. Irvin’s parents said that they were never notified of her death, had to find out on their own and police never provided them with information what happened.

Jasmine Mines, an attorney representing the Keyes and Harris families, said the newly released video shows inconsistencies with LAPD’s initial account of events.
“Even though the sirens were off, the officers were clearly still in pursuit. Initially, the LAPD officers stated they retreated and there were 15 seconds from the time they retreated to the time of the collision that ended in fatality. LAPD stated they were not engaged in any chase,” Mines said.
The dashcam video shows the officers chasing the Cadillac through at least four intersections with their lights and sirens on.

A clerk at the Shell gas station on the southeast corner of 159th St. and Dixie Hwy. in Harvey called 911 and complained that an ‘irate woman with a gun” was vandalizing the store. Harvey PD and Hazel Crest PD responded to the call and the woman got into the vehicle and proceeded to drive southbound on Dixie Highway at a high rate of speed. The Harvey police officer escalated a chase which reached a high rate of speed. The fleeing vehicle swerved to avoid another vehicle, lost control, and crashed into a sign at 170th Street, split in two and all three of the occupants were ejected. Two died at the scene and another was transported to Christ Hospital in Oak Lawn in critical condition. The third victim reportedly also died in the hospital.

Police chased Edwards for undisclosed reasons before he jumped off the bridge. Jackson County sheriff’s deputies had been chasing him on a highway outside Pascagoula but backed off when he reached the city limits. Per official police narrative, around 7:30 p.m. on East Sixth Street, officers responded to a call of a disturbance at the address. Police state that Harrington was “loud” and pointed a gun at two officers and was shot and killed. Per his father, Tavares Harrington was experiencing a mental health episode when police arrived and shot and killed him. “They got away with murder”, the father stated. Harrington was on psychiatric medicines, had missed some and was in an exacerbated mental health state and needed help. He shouted to police to please not shoot him, was shot and fell besides his father. It had been his father’s birthday. Harrington had been arrested in the past and was well known to the PD in this town with a population of under 5,000.

After the shooting, the PD received training by the CIT Crisis Intervention Team, a 40-hour training on basic de-escalation of mental health crisis intervention tactics.

Police allege that Daniel Rivera had stolen a car and they were chasing it. Rivera allegedly got out and ran into the woods near Yankee Stadium, fired shots at police and fled. Police caught up with him and executed him with 29 bullets. A former Virginia State Police (VSP) trooper responsible for a triple homicide across the country in California died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Edwards had committed a triple murder on Friday, Nov. 25, 2022 when he killed three members of the Winek family in Riverside County and set fire to their home to cover it up, after catfishing an online relationship with a 15-year-old girl in the family. San Bernardino deputies observed a red Kia Soul driving on Highway 247 during a manhunt for him. Sheriff’s Aviation and California Highway Patrol’s Aviation followed the Kia Soul from a distance until SWAT could catch up.
SWAT intercepted Edwards’ car, he fled and led deputies on a chase, during which time he shot at and struck a SWAT vehicle multiple times. Edwards reportedly lost control of his car and the chase ended when he drove off the road.
the 15-year-old girl whom he had “catfished” was in the car with him, but was able to exit at that point and be rescued by sheriff’s deputies.
As Edwards exited the vehicle, authorities said he pointed a gun at the sheriff’s helicopter, and deputies fired back at him. He was shot and killed. The girl survived.

A Grand Rapids man believed to have killed his ex-girlfriend the month prior shot and killed himself following a gun battle with Grand Rapids Police officers. Patrick Jones, 30, fired multiple rounds at two officers at Jefferson Avenue and LaBelle Street on the city's southeast side just before noon Thursday. He then committed suicide under police duress.
