On 12/18/2025 Gwinnett County Police Department officers responded to a residence on Lockridge Drive NW at the request of mental health clinicians assisting Christopher Richard Stalker. Officers attempted to talk with Stalker after clinicians determined he needed transport to a facility and he refused. During the encounter Stalker pulled out a knife and walked toward an officer after commands to drop the knife. An officer shot Stalker multiple times. Deputies from the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office tried to pull over the moped Brown was riding early on Dec. 16, 2025, for a traffic violation. Brown did not stop and continued riding the moped with a passenger, which led deputies to pursue him. The moped left the roadway, went through a grass median, and then crashed into a support of a closed gas station on Gordon Highway. Brown and the passenger were taken to the hospital; Brown died later at the hospital from his injuries.

On 11/17/2025 deputies responded to a residence after the mother of the children fled with her five-year-old child and reported that her husband had threatened to kill her children. The two stepsons aged 14 and 16 were found inside the home having been shot. When deputies confronted Eric Grigsby outside the house he allegedly held two handguns and pointed them at officers. On 11/11/2025, 20-year-old Dalyn Elder of Augusta was pronounced dead at 8:15 a.m. after being hospitalized following a shoot-out with deputies on 10/02/2025. The incident began when deputies responded to a robbery at a gas station on Washington Road, and Elder who was not one of the robbery suspects fled and opened fire on deputies. On October 22, 2025, around 6:10 p.m., officers from the Cobb County Police Department responded to reports of a hit-and-run and located Timothy Lyle Sheats walking in the roadway. Shooter officer Gerald Walker joined the Atlanta Police Department in 2023.
