On March 25, 2025, at approximately 3:15 a.m., 40-year-old Adam Mansour was found unresponsive in a cell at the Marion County Jail in Salem, Oregon. Jail staff immediately initiated CPR and other lifesaving measures; however, their efforts were unsuccessful, and Mansour was pronounced dead. He had been booked into the jail on March 20, 2025, on charges of burglary and interfering with making a report. The cause and manner of his death are currently under investigation, with the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office leading the inquiry as an external agency.

On 03/19/2025, at approximately 2:10 p.m., Jackson County Sheriff's deputies and U.S. Marshals attempted to arrest a man with 15 nationwide extraditable warrants for child sex abuse. The man was involved in a domestic altercation on 03/16/2025, during which he allegedly threatened a woman with a firearm. Law enforcement located the man in the 6000 block of Table Rock Road in rural Central Point. After a brief standoff during a high-risk traffic stop near the intersection of Orr Drive and Table Rock Road, the man died by apparent suicide by firearm at approximately 2:15 p.m. The Oregon State Police are investigating the incident.

Oregon State Police responded to a report of a suspicious person at the Governor Ted Kulongoski Army Aviation Training Center. The individual, Matthew Walter Wong, reportedly handed a threatening note to a guard. Senior Trooper Justin Oxenrider arrived and confronted Wong outside the guard station. Under unclear circumstances, Oxenrider opened fire and killed him. The Oregon State Police is investigating.

On 02/20/2025, at approximately 5:27 PM, officers from the Madras Police Department, Oregon State Police, and Jefferson County Sheriff's Office responded to multiple reports of a fight in progress on Highway 97 in the southern part of Madras, Oregon. Upon arrival, law enforcement encountered 26-year-old Allan Dale Warner Jr. Initial reports indicate that Warner was involved in a confrontation with officers, during which he was fatally shot. Eyewitness video suggests that Warner may have picked up an object resembling a non-lethal shotgun dropped by an officer during the encounter. However, it remains unclear whether Warner was armed at the time he was shot. The Central Oregon Major Incident Team, led by the Bend Police Department, is conducting a comprehensive investigation into the incident.

On January 24, 2025, law enforcement responded to reports of a man, identified as 58-year-old Joel Evan Brousseau, firing a firearm from his home on Owyhee Avenue in Nyssa, Oregon. Upon arrival, officers encountered an active shooter situation, with Brousseau firing multiple rounds at law enforcement using a high-powered semi-automatic rifle. During the ensuing standoff, which lasted approximately eight hours, hundreds of rounds were exchanged. Law enforcement evacuated nearby residents and utilized Oregon State Police SWAT personnel, armored vehicles, and a robot operator to approach the residence. Efforts to enter the home were initially hindered by Brousseau's attempts to barricade doors and windows. Eventually, SWAT used an armored vehicle with a ram to breach the barricades. Brousseau was found deceased inside the home around 11:30 p.m., with early information suggesting he died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The Malheur County Sheriff's Office and Oregon State Police are handling the case and conducting an internal investigation.

On 01/22/2025, Salem Police officers Chad Galusha and John Diaz were pursuing 42-year-old Shawn L. Baker on foot. Baker fled into the Laurel Gate Court Apartments at 3355 River Road North in Salem, Oregon. He was armed with a handgun. The officers confronted Baker, and shots were fired, striking him. Baker died at the scene. The specific reasons for the pursuit and the details of the confrontation have not been disclosed.

On December 11, 2024, at approximately 10:00 p.m., Portland Police Bureau officers responded to a reported stabbing at a convenience store near 1500 N Going Street in Portland, Oregon. The 19-year-old male victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was treated and released from the hospital. A 43-year-old man, known to the victim, left the location but was found by officers two blocks away, conscious and breathing.

While in custody, the man lost consciousness. He died at the location. The Oregon State Medical Examiner is investigating, and the Portland Police Bureau Homicide Unit is conducting its investigation.

Oregon corrections officer Nicholas Alexander fatally shot his teenage daughter before taking his own life on 12/11/2024. The incident occurred inside their Washington County apartment. Authorities discovered the bodies during a welfare check. Evidence at the scene suggests the man killed his daughter with a firearm before committing suicide. A firearm was recovered. On 11/26/2024, Eugene Police officers attempted to arrest a male individual at the intersection of 17th Avenue and Tyler Street in Eugene, Oregon. Police stated the man, identified as a fugitive with a warrant for a parole violation, was armed with a knife. Officers reportedly used less-lethal tactics, including beanbag rounds, before discharging their firearms. The man sustained gunshot injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Virginia Morris, a 38-year-old disabled U.S. Marine Corps veteran, was fatally shot by Deputy Benjamin Cloud of the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office. She was reportedly experiencing a mental health crisis and fired shots from her home in Waldport, prompting a police response. Morris had expressed fears of being killed by law enforcement in prior social media posts following an unrelated incident involving trespassers. Lincoln City police were sent to a motel six in Lincoln city where a man and a woman were arguing. In the process of investigating this, police discovered that the man was wanted on felony warrants, and there was an allegedly stolen vehicle in the parking lot associated with a couple. State that he was noncompliant and “reached for his waistband” and they shot and killed him.

Milwaukie PD traffic-stopped Hunter Newton reportedly refused to get out of his vehicle at a Taco Bell parking lot. Police alleged that he was driving with a suspended license and that they had to forcibly remove him from his vehicle during which time it was shot and killed. At least two bystanders who witnessed the fatal shooting dispute, the police narrative, and state that Newton had cooperated and gotten out of his vehicle with his hands up and appeared injured. The DA confirmed that he had been unarmed.

A school bus converted to be an RV was parked illegally in the city of Lincoln. Police were called and some sort of disagreement and sued with a man inside of the school bus. Police claim that he fired shots at police and drove away. Police tracked him down and, the man fled and hid in a nearby home. He allegedly escaped to a roof after a fire was started. Police state that he held a rifle and they shot and killed him. It is unknown what started the fire in the home, SWAT incendiary devices or whether it was deliberately set.

Michael Letendre was stopped by a loss prevention officer at a Safeway store for alleged shoplifting.
