Deputies found the female and learned her son, 67-year-old Oliver Mercer of Lebanon, was reported suicidal at a viewpoint above the Willamette Valley. When deputies attempted to approach Mercer’s vehicle, he fled in his vehicle and a pursuit ensued, involving multiple law enforcement agencies. Mercer’s vehicle was redirected into a ditch near Denney School Road and Highway 34. As officers approached, he fired a self-inflicted gunshot to his head. He was transported to Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center in Corvallis but died of his injuries.

A school bus converted to be an RV was parked illegally in the city of Lincoln. Police were called and some sort of disagreement and sued with a man inside of the school bus.
