Two women were reportedly involved in a domestic fight with items being thrown out of an apartment. Police arrived and determined the fight was under control. One of the women, Christina McKinney, left the apartment and police followed her, yelling demands when they saw her hand in her pocket. Officer Blake Hollins fired 2 shots and killed her. The object turned out to be an AirSoft gun, a plastic replica of a weapon. The domestic disturbance had ended when police appeared. Police released a bodycam video that is heavily redacted with the entire figure of the woman being killed is blurred out throughout.
The officer who shot and killed McKinney was named as Blake Hollins who had received a previous 21-day suspension for preceding incidents with recommendations from superiors to fire him. This was apparently stopped by the police union. Officer Hollins was back on duty and shot and killed Christina McKinney. He received a 3-day suspension and was cleared back to work after that.

Montgomery County deputies were sent to a location on Hacker Road with a warrant for someone for “aggravated menacing” from another location. The man hid in the house. The matter was complicated as he was with an uninvolved family of four when police arrived. All family members were able to get out and were not hindered by the man police were after. One person had to climb out of an upstairs window when numerous police and SWAT vehicles bore down on the home. Law enforement from areas including Clayton, Dayton, Miami Township, and the Montgomery County Regional SWAT team all arrived and shots were fired apparently from all sides. The man died from suicide under police duress. There are no reports that he had tried harming the family he was with.

Rasheem Edwards was traffic-stopped on a dirt bike because it had no reg tags in Silver Springs Shores, FL and allegedly ran on foot from the traffic stop with officers claiming he was open-carrying a gun. Police allege that he had pulled it out and they shot and killed him.
Eyewitnesses state that police shot and killed the man 75 feet from the crowd near a football field and children stated that the man collapsed and died in front of them. Police had not reported this detail initially when they announced the death and had not revealed that the officer had fired his weapon near a crowded field with children and parents. Parents are quite upset and were offered free counseling by the police department.
The officer has formally invoked Marsy’s Law, a law originally created to shield the identities of crime victims. Police in Florida and several other states routinely abuse Marsy’s Law to hide the names of killer cops. Marsy’s Law has officially been requested by the officer to hide his name.

The Seward County Sheriff’s Office said deputies tried to traffic-stop a vehicle heading west on I-80 at 3:11 p.m., but the driver turned around and drove the wrong way on the interstate. SCSO said the vehicle crossed over into the eastbound lanes near the Milford exit and continued on I-80. Deputies apparently followed him head-on in the wrong direction at high speeds until it came to a stop on I-80 near the Pleasant Dale exit. Officer Anthony Gann was charged with manslaughter in April of 2024 and was arrested with trial pending.

Kent Police Department were called when two men abandoned a vehicle in someone’s driveway and told the homeowner they were out of gas and going to walk to get some. Police arrived and discovered the abandoned vehicle had been stolen and apparently left in the driveway undamaged. Police followed the men and found them running. Kent PD shot and killed an unnamed man who was found hiding behind a house. Police claimed he had a knife on him. No word if he had tried to use it as he was reported as only running away when shot and killed. Police fired six shots into him.

John Drake Jr. had shot and injured two La Vergne, TN police officers several days prior. A massive manhunt was underway for several days, attracting additional attention due to the fact that Drake was the son of the current Nashville police chief John Drake. On 10/24/2023, after several days of a massive public manhunt after him, police received a call that he had stolen a vehicle at gunpoint and driven away in it. Police spotted the stolen vehicle on Thompson Lane and escalated a chase that ended when he crashed into a parked car. When police moved toward the vehicle, they found Drake dead, having committed suicide under police duress during the chase.
