Colorado Springs Police responded to reports of a man breaking into vehicles and threatening someone with a gun on March 31, 2025. Officers located the man, who exited a vehicle while holding a firearm. Police shot and killed him.

On March 26, 2025, Broward Sheriff's deputies responded to reports of a shooting at an apartment in the 3100 block of Hallandale Beach Boulevard. Inside, they found four victims killed by gunfire: Julie Cruz, 32; her 11-year-old son Xion Solomon; and 2-year-old twin sons Nova and Emery McKenzie. Her 8-year-old daughter Phiinyx Solomon was found wounded and hospitalized in critical condition. The shooter, identified as Stephen McKenzie, 34, was the estranged partner of Cruz and father of the twins. He was found at the scene with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. He was transported to the hospital in critical condition and died five days later on March 31. Family members said Cruz had tried to leave the relationship and had recently moved into the apartment.

Corin Mitchell Skinner, 33, was reported walking in the street with a knife, threatening to harm himself and stating he wanted police to shoot him. Officers responded to Delaware Street near State Street in Saginaw. Police allege he advanced toward them with the knife. Officers fired tasers, which were ineffective. Daniel W. Curtin Sr., 72, was reported suicidal and armed at a home on Chartres Street in La Salle. Police established a perimeter and evacuated neighbors. Curtin exited the home several times while brandishing a handgun, fired into the air, and later fired out of a window at officers. Around 4:00 p.m., he pointed a gun at police outside, and an officer opened fire, killing him.

On March 29, 2025, at approximately 7 a.m., a Stuart Police Department officer responded to a report of a man acting erratically and armed with a knife at the Sierra Condominiums. Upon arrival, the officer encountered 36-year-old Kenneth Christopher Cook, who was reportedly stalking a woman with the knife. After a brief interaction, Cook retreated into his residence and emerged with a larger knife, approximately eight or nine inches in length, and charged at the officer. The officer opened fire, discharging four rounds and striking Cook twice. Cook was transported to a hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. The Martin County Sheriff's Office is conducting an investigation into the incident.

John Bruce Martinez, 19, was driving over 120 mph when North Little Rock Police and Arkansas State Police initiated a high-speed pursuit on Interstate 40. Around the 145-mile marker, Martinez reached speeds of 130 mph before losing control near the Morgan/Maumelle Exit. His vehicle ran off the road and crashed into several trees. He was killed on impact. Three 17-year-old passengers from Mabelvale were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.

Around 11:30 p.m., Pueblo Police received reports of a wrong-way driver on I-25 near Highway 50. Shortly after, Andrew Cuevas, 44, ran a red light at Dillon Drive and Cesar Chavez Boulevard, crashing into a BMW. Cuevas then attempted to carjack an off-duty Douglas County deputy. Witnesses and the deputy subdued him until officers arrived. Cuevas was reportedly under the influence of drugs and was taken into custody on charges including DUI and aggravated robbery. At the hospital for medical clearance and a blood draw, Cuevas became unresponsive and was pronounced dead. The Pueblo County Critical Incident Response Team is investigating.

On March 28, 2025, around 9:45 p.m., Cuyahoga County Sheriff's deputies attempted to stop a vehicle for erratic driving on East 9th Street in Cleveland. The driver, 24-year-old Nigel Wayne Perry, did not stop. Deputies escalated a pursuit onto Interstate 90. At the Eddy Road exit, Perry’s vehicle collided with a second vehicle. The impact caused the second car to fall off the bridge and catch fire. Perry's vehicle also caught fire, and he was pronounced dead at the scene. The female driver of the other vehicle was ejected and transported to University Hospital. The case is under investigation.

On 03/28/2025, Los Angeles police attempted to stop a burgundy SUV suspected of DUI in the Southwest Division. On March 28, 2025, Cuyahoga County Sheriff’s deputies attempted a traffic stop on East 9th Street. Police chased the vehicle that exited the freeway onto Eddy Road until it collided with another car driven by 48-year-old Tamya Westmoreland. Her vehicle flipped over a guardrail and caught fire. She was transported to University Hospitals and died from her injuries on April 13, 2025.

Marin County Sheriff's deputies attempted to stop a driver for reckless driving in San Rafael. The driver refused to stop. Kenneth Edward Bailey, the rapper known as Young Scooter, died on March 28, 2025—his 39th birthday—following a police pursuit in southeast Atlanta. Atlanta Police responded to a report of gunfire and a domestic dispute on William Nye Drive Southeast. As officers arrived, two men ran from the back of the residence. On March 26, 2025, multiple law enforcement agencies executed a drug-related search warrant at a home on Kestrel Court in Olivehurst. During the operation, a man inside the residence exchanged gunfire with officers. Marysville Police Officer Osmar Rodarte was shot and later died at a hospital. Officers returned fire and killed the man inside the home. Rodarte was a two-year veteran of the department and a U.S. Army veteran. The Yuba County and Sutter County District Attorney’s Offices are investigating.

South Gate police located a man in a vehicle near Seville Avenue and Walnut Street wanted for two recent armed robberies. Officers approached and the man allegedly raised a gun. Officers opened fire, striking and killing him. Two firearms were reportedly recovered at the scene. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the shooting.

Around 2:45 a.m., Buchanan Police attempted a traffic stop on a vehicle driving in the wrong lane on Front Street. The driver did not stop. Police escalated a chase onto South Redbud Trail. After crossing railroad tracks, the vehicle went airborne, hit a tree, and crashed into a house near Hobart Street. The male driver was pronounced dead at the scene. No one in the home was injured. The Michigan State Police Crash Reconstruction Team is investigating.

Arkansas State Police chased a white Dodge Ram after the driver, Torkilo Hambrick, failed to stop for a traffic violation near mile marker 173. Police escalated the chase along Interstate 40 at speeds exceeding 120 miles per hour. Near mile marker 191, an Arkansas State Police trooper conducted a PIT maneuver—a tactic known to be potentially lethal at speeds above 35 mph—causing the truck to overturn and crash. Laterrika Woods, the 29-year-old sister of Memphis rapper Big Boogie, was a passenger in the vehicle. She was ejected during the crash and died at the scene. Two other passengers were seriously injured. Experts have long warned that PIT maneuvers at speeds above 35 mph carry an extreme risk of fatality, and at 100+ mph, the probability of a deadly outcome is considered astronomically high.

The truck fled at a high speed (reported over 120 mph and driving on the shoulder) and was pursued by the trooper for approximately 18 miles. The chase ended when the trooper executed a PIT maneuver near Hazen; the truck flipped into a ditch and ejected several passengers. Laterrika Woods, age 29 of Memphis, was pronounced dead at the scene. Another passenger was critically injured and transported to the hospital. The state police investigation into the crash is ongoing.
