On March 7, 2025, Hartford Police Department personnel were monitoring an Instagram Live video showing William Bowen, 21, displaying what appeared to be firearms while walking around Hartford. Officers from the Greater Hartford Auto Theft Task Force located Bowen on Homestead Avenue around 2:30 p.m. As officers converged on him using unmarked cars, Bowen displayed a handgun, prompting Officer Robert Bohm and Detective Benjamin Lee to fire multiple rounds. Bowen fled on foot, discarding two firearms along his path. Detective Joseph Walsh encountered Bowen emerging from an alley on Magnolia Street and, after reportedly ordering him to "Drop the gun," fired multiple rounds, fatally wounding Bowen. Two Glock firearms, matching those seen in the Instagram Live video, were recovered along Bowen's flight path. An autopsy confirmed Bowen died from gunshot wounds to the torso and extremities. The investigation is ongoing.

On February 9, 2025, 20-year-old Arian Perez-Feliciano was involved in two carjacking attempts in Waterbury, Connecticut. When confronted by Detective RJ Sackett, Perez-Feliciano opened fire, injuring the detective in the thigh. Despite slipping on ice during the confrontation, Perez-Feliciano managed to discharge his weapon. Detective Sackett's injury was non-life-threatening. Perez-Feliciano was subsequently shot and killed by responding officers. The incident is under investigation by multiple law enforcement agencies.

On February 3, 2025, at approximately 6:07 p.m., 68-year-old Manuel Bonilla-Gomez was riding his bicycle southbound on Clinton Avenue in Norwalk, Connecticut. He reportedly entered the intersection with Connecticut Avenue (Route 1) and was struck by an unmarked police SUV driven by Detective Andrew Roncinske, who was traveling eastbound with a green light. Bonilla-Gomez was transported to Norwalk Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The Connecticut State Police are conducting an investigation into the incident.

Upon entry, a 35-year-old male suspect fired several gunshots, striking two West Haven officers in the leg. The officers returned fire, killing the suspect. The two injured officers were treated at a hospital and released. Three other individuals—a 32-year-old woman, a 52-year-old man, and an 8-year-old girl—were present in the apartment but were not injured. The Office of the Inspector General is investigating the incident.

On January 28, 2025, at approximately 7:34 a.m., Stamford Police Department officers responded to a report of a man acting erratically in the area of West Main Street and West Avenue in Stamford, Connecticut. Upon arrival, they encountered 36-year-old Jamal Linton of Brooklyn, New York. Linton was taken into custody and transported to Stamford Police Headquarters. Shortly after arrival, he was found unresponsive in a holding cell. Life-saving measures were initiated, but Linton was pronounced dead. The Office of Inspector General is investigating the incident.

On December 16, 2024, at approximately 2:20 a.m., a fatal accident occurred on Derby Avenue in West Haven, Connecticut. Panjala Neeraj Goud, a 23-year-old originally from Bodhan, Telangana, India, was a passenger in a Hyundai Elantra traveling at high speed. The vehicle lost control on icy roads, veering off the roadway and spinning sideways into the parking lot of a Citgo gas station. The Hyundai collided with a parked West Haven police cruiser, leading to fatal injuries for Neeraj. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

On 12/12/2024, 26-year-old Kenneth Montaner-Buscampell was found unresponsive, lying on his back on top of a table in the housing unit at the MacDougall-Walker Correctional Institution in Suffield, Connecticut. An emergency code was called at 7:19 a.m., and staff members responded to the scene. The state Office of the Chief Medical Examiner ruled his death a homicide by asphyxiation. Montaner-Buscampell was serving a two-year sentence for a fourth-degree sexual assault conviction.

The Connecticut State Police and the Department of Correction are investigating the incident.

Bridgeport police were sent on a mental health welfare check for 45 year-old Huntley Jackson, who was reportedly in some sort of mental health crisis. Police found him on the porch with a knife. It is unknown how he was approached, but he allegedly stabbed an officer in the shoulder. A second officer shocked and killed him.

On September 19, 2024, at approximately 5 p.m., officers from the New Haven Police Department’s Violent Crime Task Force, assisted by the Connecticut State Police, located 36-year-old Jebrell Conley at the Splash Car Wash on Boston Post Road in West Haven. Police were attempting to arrest Conley on an outstanding federal warrant for robbery and firearm charges.

When officers approached Conley’s vehicle, he reportedly fired a shot from inside, shattering the driver's side window. A number of officers opened fire, hitting Conley multiple times. He was struck, removed from his vehicle, and transported to Yale New Haven Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The Connecticut Office of the Inspector General is investigating the shooting, with assistance from the Connecticut State Police’s Western District Major Crime Squad and the Office of the State’s Attorney for the Judicial District of New Haven. On July 16, 2024, at approximately 6:21 a.m., officers from the Waterbury Police Department responded to reports of a shooting at a condominium complex on Armand Drive in Waterbury, Connecticut. Inside an apartment, police found a 65-year-old male victim who had been shot during an earlier altercation in the parking lot. The victim identified the shooter as a 73-year-old male acquaintance.

Police located the 73-year-old man in a common area of the complex. As officers approached, the man used a firearm to take his own life. The 65-year-old victim was transported to a hospital in stable condition.

The Waterbury Police Department is conducting an investigation into this incident, which they have described as isolated, with no ongoing threat to public safety.

On June 5, 2024, Milford Police Department officers responded to a shoplifting report at Big Y grocery store on Boston Post Road in Milford, Connecticut. Store employees accused Michael M. Brown, a 52-year-old resident of Bridgeport, of attempting to steal approximately $650 worth of items. Officers confronted Brown in the parking lot, where he provided a false name and attempted to enter his vehicle despite commands to remain outside.

When Brown became resistant, police engaged him in an altercation. Officers forcibly removed him from his vehicle and placed him in handcuffs. Brown repeatedly stated that he couldn’t breathe and complained of leg pain. After being restrained, Brown experienced a medical emergency. Emergency Medical Services arrived, administered Narcan, and transported him to Milford Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

On April 18, 2024, Colchester Police Department officers, including Officer Kiruluss Wassef, responded to a disturbance call at 759 Norwich Avenue. The report from a tenant alleged that their landlord, Jared Michael Billard, appeared to be in a mental health crisis, acting erratically by leaving a grill unattended on the deck and later confronting the tenant with throwing knives. Officers arrived and initiated verbal communication with Billard at his basement apartment.

During the interaction, officers reportedly heard the racking of a pump-action shotgun. Billard then emerged from his apartment holding the shotgun and pointing it at Officer Wassef, who was positioned near the basement stairs. In response, Officer Wassef fired his weapon once, striking Billard in the upper chest. Police immediately administered medical aid, but Billard was pronounced dead at Backus Hospital.

Jared Michael Billard, an Army veteran who served with the 101st Airborne Infantry, attended Manchester and Middlesex community colleges and worked as a security officer at Loomis Chaffee School. Colleagues remembered him as a friendly and valued member of their community.

On January 31, 2024, Stamford Police Department officers located Lawrence Byrd on Canal Street following an alert from Ramapo police in New York. Byrd had allegedly killed his former domestic partner, Rosezella Munroe, at her residence in Hillcrest, Rockland County, New York, earlier that day. Munroe, 56, had previously reported multiple incidents of domestic violence involving Byrd, including harassment and unauthorized entry into her home.

When officers approached Byrd for arrest, he produced a firearm and fatally shot himself. Stamford Police officers administered CPR, but Byrd was pronounced dead at Stamford Hospital. Investigators confirmed that Byrd was wanted in connection with Munroe’s death and had fled to Stamford following the incident.

On January 14, 2024, Connecticut corrections officer William Lucky Jr. was involved in a road rage incident on Interstate 691 in Meriden, Connecticut. During the altercation, Lucky fired 18 shots at Scott E. Kracke, who had reportedly annoyed him during the exchange. Kracke was struck by the gunfire and later died from his injuries.

After the shooting, Lucky drove away from the scene and was later arrested. He was charged with murder, and his bond was set at $2.5 million.

Scott Kracke, 49, was a father and engaged to be married. He was the sole caregiver for his 16-year-old son, Logan, and had a close bond with his family. On January 14, 2024, Wethersfield Police escalated a pursuit of a vehicle that was driving erratically. The vehicle, which had been stolen in Hartford, crashed into a tree and then into a house on Church Street in Wethersfield while police were in hot pursuit. Tragically, 14-year-old Novelle Nesmith, who was a passenger in the vehicle, was trapped and later pronounced dead.

The other two juveniles in the vehicle were injured and taken to the hospital. One juvenile was treated for non-life-threatening injuries, while the other was released after medical care.

Novelle Nesmith's family has since called for further investigation into the circumstances surrounding the police chase.

The Mid-State Accident Reconstruction Team is leading the investigation into the crash, and the Wethersfield Police Department is cooperating with the inquiry.

Wolcott PD arrived at a mental health crisis with a suicidal man who had cut his neck and was bleeding but was alive. The man allegedly did not comply with police commands, was tasered and then killed. It is not reported that any professional mental health help was ever made available before he was attacked and killed by police.

Police were sent on a call to check on a domestic disturbance. A window had been opened. Police entered and a woman told them “Mike did it”, referring to the window. Ledyard PD arrived at 70 Whalehead Road, the residence of 47-year-old Daniel DiCicco for felony warrant for Failure to Appear on weapons-related charges. The origin and immediate context of this charge, and thereby also its significance, are unknown at this time as police presented the matter as a simple FTA warrant in the news while they seemingly staged a small war against DiCicco with obviously most relevant context of the situation not relayed to the public by police.

On 10/19/2023, “authorities” reported by media which were later revealed to be local police together with the FBI, arrived at 70 Whalehead Road, a sparsely populated heavily wooded area and multi-team fed+local police allegedly evacuated the few neighbors this address shows on sat view to exist. The reasons for a preemptive evacuation are unknown and appear out of context with the official explanation that they were picking up an FTA skip on a simple warrant. Authorities in New London, CT County state that a search warrant to look for “weapons-related” charges was issued. This triggered today’s raid. The only other thing local authorities said on behalf of the PD+FBI raid was: “When agents could safely enter the property, DiCicco was unconscious and declared dead.”

Wallingford PD were sent to a home where Donald Passmore, 62, was suicidal and needed help. When police entered, he seemed agitated, was lying in bed and argued with police. Police fired 10 shots and killed him in his bed. Police allege that he had a .22 nearby but he was not seen holding or reaching for a gun, only gesticulating angrily with his hands while lying in bed when shot and killed. Middlebury officers were seen speeding and getting out of their vehicles with guns in hand and ordered evacuation of an area. Naugatuck and Waterbury officers arrived in unknown numbers and started a siege upon a residence. The man was later found dead inside during the standoff, allegedly having committed suicide under police duress. Katherine Colon was crossing a street in New Britain on foot when she was hit and killed by a New Britain police cruiser. On 08/08/2023, in West Hartford, Connecticut, Officer Andrew Teeter fatally shot 34-year-old Mike Alexander-Garcia following a series of events involving a stolen vehicle. Alexander-Garcia was allegedly driving a stolen Hyundai Elantra and did not stop when police deployed stop sticks. After crashing the vehicle, he fled on foot and attempted two unsuccessful carjackings before entering a Toyota RAV4 at Town Fair Tire. Officer Teeter deployed his K9 unit into the vehicle; despite this, Alexander-Garcia continued his attempt to flee. Officer Teeter then entered the vehicle and, during the struggle, opened fire and killed him. A report by the Connecticut Office of Inspector General, released on 12/19/2024, concluded that the shooting was justified.

Mike Alexander Garcia allegedly stole a car. Police chased him and put stop sticks down on New Britain. The car crashed as a result and he ran into other businesses and he tried to take a car from Town Fair Tire. Police chased him to Town Fair Tire where he fought with an employee inside the bay of the establishment. The officer opened the door, pushed his K9 inside. The K9 is seen on BWC in the passenger seat, tearing at his arms. The sound has been muted on BWC during a continuous dog mauling inside of a car. The officer then climbed into the car with Garcia. Garcia’s vehicle jolted into motion with the dog still attacking him and vehicle bumped into a police cruiser and a civilian’s car while trying to escape the police violence. He ran into a telephone pole and police shot and killed him.

New Haven PD’s Special Victims Unit investigating the child pornography case broke down the door of Yergeau’s neighbor and handcuffed the woman before realizing they raided had the wrong apartment. On second attempt, they broke down another door, this time the home of Tim Yergeau, their original target for arrest for child porn. Tim Yergeau committed suicide under police duress when police entered.

Benjamin Payton was a 17-year-old high school student at Crosby High School whom Waterbury police saw him in a stolen car around noon parked on Sage Drive. Police apprehended the driver, whom they identified as a 14-year-old boy. Another occupant, a 16-year-old boy, was also taken into custody. Benny Payton ran into Lakewood Lake and was found drowned later.

A Connecticut State trooper arrived at Ryan Marzi’s home after a call from someone in the home that Marzi had prevented them from leaving. A second officer arrived and found the first responding officer allegedly injured on the ground, at which point the second officer tased Marzi an unknown number of times. Marzi was hospitalized and then released but died 4 days later in his sleep. He had been unarmed when assaulted by police.
