A Morgan County Sheriff's deputy fatally shot a man while responding to a 911 call about an unwanted person at a residence on Ray Cross Road in the Mossy Grove area. Upon arrival, the man reportedly picked up a large rock and advanced toward the deputy. The deputy fired multiple shots, striking the man. Officers performed CPR until EMS arrived and transported him to Roane County Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. Following a grand jury review, Deputy Charles Faircloth was indicted on charges of criminally negligent homicide and official misconduct in connection with the death of Cox.

On April 29, 2025, around 5:15 p.m., Wilson County deputies responded to a domestic disturbance at a residence in the 5100 block of Benders Ferry Road in Mt. Juliet. Upon arrival, a man barricaded himself inside the home. After several hours of negotiation, the man exited the residence and allegedly fired a handgun at deputies. Deputies returned fire, striking the man, who was pronounced dead at the scene. No deputies were injured. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is conducting an independent investigation into the incident.

On April 16, 2025, at approximately 6:00 a.m., DEA agents, in collaboration with Metro Nashville Police and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, conducted a narcotics operation at 109 29th Avenue North in Midtown Nashville. During the operation, 36-year-old Deshawn Patrick Jones was shot by a DEA agent. First aid was administered on-site, and Jones was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. No more details were released. Two additional suspects were taken into custody. The Metro Nashville Police Department's Cold Case Unit is leading the investigation into the incident.

On March 31, 2025, Arkansas State Police engaged in a high-speed pursuit of a vehicle driven by Revail Murphy on Interstate 55 in Memphis. During the chase, a trooper performed a tactical vehicle intervention (TVI), also known as a PIT maneuver. The vehicle spun out and crashed. Murphy was killed as a result. This was the second fatal TVI by Arkansas State Police in the same week. Police did not disclosed why they chased him.

On March 27, 2025, Tullahoma Police officers attempted to serve an arrest warrant for sexual assault on a minor on 58-year-old Thomas Hackworth at his business on West Lincoln Street. Upon arrival, officers heard gunshots and entered the premises, finding Hackworth deceased from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the roof of his mouth. Evidence indicated that a round had also been fired in the general direction of officers but was stopped when it impacted a vehicle. The incident is under investigation by the Tullahoma Police Department and the District Attorney's office.

He pointed the firearm at officers and made verbal threats. Officers fired at Peeler, who then retreated into the home. The Murfreesboro Special Operations Unit later entered the residence and found him deceased. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is conducting an independent investigation. An autopsy will determine the official cause of death.

On 03/07/2025, Kevin Wells barricaded himself inside a residence on Antioch Pike following a domestic disturbance. The Metropolitan Nashville Police Department's SWAT team responded. During the standoff, Wells sustained a self-inflicted gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene. Two children present in the home were safely removed by authorities.

On 03/05/2025, at approximately 2:30 a.m., a deputy from the Tipton County Sheriff's Office attempted to stop a vehicle near Highway 51 and Jack Bennett Road in Covington, Tennessee. The driver, a 29-year-old male, fled on foot into a nearby wooded area. After an extensive search, the individual was found deceased in a water-filled ditch. Authorities have not released the man's identity, and the investigation is ongoing.
