On May 11, 2025, Mansfield Police officers identified a vehicle with a stolen license plate entering the city on FM 917. The vehicle, occupied by a driver and a front-seat passenger, fled from officers and entered U.S. 287 southbound. The vehicle continued to evade officers and entered the city of Midlothian. At approximately the 4000 block of West U.S. 287, the vehicle was traveling southbound in the northbound lanes before colliding with another vehicle. The driver was ejected and pronounced deceased at the scene. The front-seat passenger was transported by CareFlite to Methodist Central Hospital in Dallas in critical condition. All occupants of the second vehicle were transported to Methodist Mansfield Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. The vehicle was confirmed stolen from the city of Grand Prairie.

Both individuals sustained injuries and were transported to a local hospital. Reyes died from his injuries at the hospital. The deputy's injuries were non-life-threatening, and he is currently recovering. The deputy has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation, which is being conducted by the Texas Rangers.

When officers approached the stopped vehicle, they discovered Osborne had sustained a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. On April 26, 2025, at approximately 10:17 p.m., a police pursuit in Houston, Texas, began a chase when Precinct 7 Constable deputies attempted to stop a vehicle for speeding at over 90 miles per hour without headlights. After the vehicle exited the freeway and continued to drive, Precinct 3 Constable deputies resumed the pursuit. The man being chased ran a red light and sped at over 90 miles per hour without headlights until he lost control of the vehicle, crashing.

The occupants exited the vehicle on foot, and while a deputy turned around to pursue, one manwas struck by the pursuing patrol vehicle. The patrol vehicle struck the man, dragging him approximately 10 feet before becoming dislodged. He was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

On April 26, 2025, the Harris County Precinct 3 Constable's Office initiated a high-speed chase when a Precinct 7 deputy first attempted to stop the driver of a white Volkswagen Tiguan traveling 90 mph without headlights. Around 2 a.m., officers spotted the vehicle westbound on I-20 and began a pursuit that ended near Sanger in Denton County. After stopping, the man did not respond to commands. A drone showed signs of medical distress. Officers approached, administered Narcan, and transported him to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. Narcotics were found in the vehicle. The man’s name has not been released pending next-of-kin notification.

On March 23, 2025, San Antonio Police responded to a domestic violence call around 2:15 p.m. at a residence near Tahoka Boulevard and Julia Place. A woman had been assaulted by her boyfriend, Max Dominguez, 27. When the officer arrived, Dominguez partially opened the door but refused entry. The officer pushed the door open, causing Dominguez to fall back on a bed. Dominguez then grabbed a machete and rose toward the officer. The officer opened fire and shot Dominguez, who later died at the hospital. The department confirmed prior incidents at the residence and Dominguez’s past record, which included violent offenses.

On March 20, 2025, Frank Ramirez, 53, died after collapsing in a solitary isolation cell at the Cooke County Jail. A corrections officer saw him awake and seated on the edge of his bed shortly before 9:00 a.m. A medical officer arrived minutes later for a scheduled test and found Ramirez slumped over. EMS transported him to North Texas Medical Center, where a pulse was detected. Ramirez was removed from life support Thursday morning at his family’s request. Sheriff Ray Sappington stated Ramirez likely died from natural causes, but the incident is under investigation by the Texas Rangers and Cooke County officials.

Santos Sedano Jr., 46, was shot and killed by South Padre Island police on March 20, 2025, after officers responded to a disturbance call at a hotel on Gulf Boulevard. On March 18, 2025, Amarillo Police Department officers responded to the 4900 block of Southwest 16th Avenue, where 33-year-old Zane Calum Prescott was sitting inside his car, with a gun. Negotiators engaged with Prescott for several hours, attempting to convince him to surrender. During the standoff, police discovered he was violating a protective order that prohibited him from possessing a firearm. An arrest warrant was issued, and when officers attempted to take him into custody, Prescott rammed through a fence at the south end of his home and drove off. Police pursued him to Bushland, where his vehicle stalled at Bushland Road and Wind River Drive. Prescott was found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

As a deputy began searching the vehicle, the driver reached through the passenger side, retrieved the gun, and ran into a wooded area. While fleeing, the driver died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The investigation is ongoing.

On March 18, 2025, around 2:35 a.m., an Allen Police Department officer attempted to stop a speeding vehicle on southbound US 75. The driver, later identified as Jonathan Jaramillo, refused to stop. On March 16, 2025, at approximately 7:00 PM, a San Antonio Police Department officer attempted a traffic stop on Loop 410 eastbound. The 43-year-old male driver exited the highway at Vance Jackson and stopped at a Shell gas station. When the officer approached, the man ran on foot through residential areas, jumping fences and alleys. During the pursuit, he allegedly displayed a knife. The officer deployed a Taserand then opened fire, killing him. A knife with a five-inch blade was recovered at the scene, and a firearm was found in his vehicle. The incident is under investigation by the SAPD shooting team and internal affairs unit, with findings to be reviewed by the Bexar County District Attorney's office.
