Houston police responded to a disturbance near Hammerly Boulevard and Wirt Road around 1 p.m. Officers encountered a man allegedly throwing large pieces of concrete. Police stated the man raised a chunk of concrete in a threatening manner, and one officer opened fire. The man was pronounced dead at the scene. The shooting is under investigation by HPD’s special investigations unit and the Harris County District Attorney’s Office.

On May 22, 2025, around 5:45 p.m., Bartlett Police officers responded to a shoplifting report at the Lowe's in the Wolfchase area. When officers approached Thomas Feminella, he reportedly drew a knife and attempted to stab an officer. Officers opened fire, striking him. Feminella was transported to Regional One Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is conducting an independent review.

At approximately 2:30 a.m., a Douglas County Sheriff's deputy approached an SUV near Fontenelle Park during a firearms investigation. Several people fled the vehicle. Janidi Ibrahim, a 19-year-old Somalian refugee, remained in the driver’s seat. The deputy opened fire, striking him. Ibrahim was taken to the hospital and later died of his injuries. Police have not stated whether Ibrahim was armed. The other individuals fled and have not been identified.

On May 21, 2025, at approximately 9:15 p.m., Plano Police officers responded to a 911 call reporting a woman had been shot at a residence on Ridgewood Circle. Upon arrival, officers encountered 37-year-old Juan Jose Rivera-Robles outside the home. Rivera-Robles opened fire on the officers, prompting one officer to return fire, fatally striking him. The woman who had been shot was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. No officers were injured during the incident. The relationship between Rivera-Robles and the woman remains under investigation. On May 21, 2025, around noon, Coon Rapids police responded to a domestic incident at a residence on the 300 block of 111th Avenue NW. A woman reported that a man, identified as 65-year-old Robert Edward Davis, had cut her with a knife. Upon arrival, officers attempted to de-escalate the situation. The woman and another man exited the home, with the woman sustaining a hand injury. Davis, still armed with a knife, refused to surrender. Officers used less-lethal measures, including 40mm launchers and a Taser, but Davis advanced toward Officer Timothy Morin, who then fired his handgun, striking Davis. Davis was transported to Mercy Hospital, where he later died. The incident is under investigation by the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension.

A 62-year-old man failed to appear in court for multiple felony charges and a warrant was issued. Just after midnight, a deputy observed him driving recklessly. On May 21, 2025, at approximately 5:00 p.m., Green Township Police responded to a report of a possibly suicidal individual violating a protection order at a residence in the 3100 block of Ebenezer Road, near Oak Hills High School. The individual, identified as 41-year-old Chet Smith, had access to firearms and refused to exit the home. The Hamilton County SWAT team was deployed. After several hours, SWAT officers entered the residence and found Smith deceased from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. At approximately 10:39 a.m. on May 20, 2025, corrections officers were sent to an emergency in a housing unit at the Louisville Metro Department of Corrections. Officers found 43-year-old Brandon T. McQuillen unresponsive. Despite resuscitation efforts by jail staff and emergency responders, McQuillen was pronounced dead at 11:11 a.m. He had been in custody since March. The Jefferson County Coroner's Office determined the cause of death to be suicide.

On May 18, 2025, Case Taylor Chrouser, 38, was fatally shot by Mohave County Sheriff's Office SWAT deputies during a standoff in Lake Havasu City when police were attempting to arrest Chrouser on multiple charges. The individual was reportedly blocking traffic at the intersection of Cannonleague Drive and West William Cannon Drive, holding what appeared to be a firearm. On May 17, 2025, at approximately 1:45 a.m., a Grand Prairie police officer attempted to stop a red Chevrolet Camaro with expired registration on East Main Street. Police escalated a high-speed chase reaching speeds up to 120 mph into Dallas. As Arevalo exited I-30 at South Hampton Road, he collided with a disabled Honda Accord. The driver of the Accord, 25-year-old Asiana Gray, was found unresponsive and later pronounced dead at a hospital.

Upon reaching the river, multiple occupants exited the vehicle; some ran away, while others jumped into the water. One individual was rescued after struggling in the water. Another male individual went underwater and did not resurface. Texas game wardens later recovered his body. The incident is under investigation by the DPS Criminal Investigation Division and Texas Rangers, with cooperation from Mexican officials.
