On 11/17/2025 an officer observed a vehicle traveling 62 mph in a 30-mph zone and attempted a traffic stop. The driver did not stop and a pursuit began. The vehicle entered the wrong direction in a roundabout at Fifth Avenue South and University Drive South, crashed into a parked pickup truck and a light pole, and overturned. Yusuf was pronounced dead at the scene.

The man fled into a wooded area where law enforcement located him with gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene. On 11/13/2025, officers from the Clearwater County Sheriff’s Office attempted to detain Dennis Hoie in Bagley under a felony warrant. Hoie drove away during the stop and a pursuit followed. Police located him at his home yard in Bagley. During contact with law enforcement the situation escalated and officers fired their weapons, striking Hoie. He was later pronounced dead at the scene. •

On 10/08/2025, Eden Prairie Police investigators went to a residence in Chaska to question a man wanted for felony theft and property damage. While officers were speaking to a woman outside the home, they heard a single gunshot from inside. Officers entered and found the man with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. On August 28, 2025, West St. Paul police and the South Metro SWAT Team attempted to arrest 42-year-old Jerry Va Thao at a home on the 1200 block of Ottawa Avenue. Thao barricaded himself in the basement and fired multiple shots at officers during a seven-hour standoff, striking a police shield and a SWAT vehicle. Chemical irritants failed to end the situation. Around 6:30 p.m., Sgt. Sean Marben of the Apple Valley Police Department, serving with the South Metro SWAT Team, shot Thao at the bottom of a stairwell. On July 15, 2025, deputies from the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office responded to a series of alarming incidents in Normanna Township, including multiple arsons and reports of shots fired. Adam Clinton Wolf, 57, was identified as the man responsible for setting fire to his own residence as well as neighboring properties, severely endangering lives and property.

On Friday, July 11, 2025, officers with the St. Paul Police Department responded to a domestic disturbance call involving a man and a child in the 1100 block of Clarence Street, near the Aldi grocery store. The man was later identified as 32-year-old Tevin Marcel Bellaphant.
When officers located Bellaphant in the Aldi parking lot with the child and attempted to take him into custody, he assaulted the officers and then produced a firearm, according to preliminary statements from police. A gunfire exchange occurred inside the Aldi, during which no officers were hit.
Bellaphant fled the scene on foot and entered a nearby Cub Foods store. While inside, two bystanders were struck by gunfire. Their injuries were later described as non-life-threatening, though officials have not yet stated definitively whether the gunfire came from Bellaphant or during the earlier police exchange.
Bellaphant was found inside the store suffering from a self-inflicted gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene. A firearm was recovered nearby. The child involved in the original domestic call was located safely and removed from the area.
The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) is leading the investigation, which includes reviewing body camera footage, forensic evidence, and interviewing witnesses. On 07/09/2025, a deputy from the Norman County Sheriff's Office attempted to conduct a welfare check on Jerry Redden, 33. Redden did not stop and a multi-agency police chase began. Deputies from the Mahnomen County Sheriff's Office, White Earth Police Department, and troopers from the Minnesota State Patrol joined the pursuit as Redden continued westbound on Highway 200, then turned south onto Highway 59 into Mahnomen County.
Approximately four miles north of Mahnomen, Redden veered into the oncoming lane and collided head-on with a semi-truck. His vehicle was destroyed, and he was pronounced dead at the scene. The semi-truck driver was unharmed.
The Minnesota State Patrol is leading the investigation. Redden was from Thief River Falls, and no further details about his condition prior to the crash have been released. It is unclear whether officers attempted any tactics to de-escalate or terminate the chase prior to the crash.

A woman reported that a man, identified as 65-year-old Robert Edward Davis, had cut her with a knife. On April 28, 2025, at approximately 7:56 p.m., Jessica Sarah Vaux, a 32-year-old woman from St. Francis, Minnesota, was involved in a fatal crash during a police pursuit.
