According to police, 19-year-old Joshua M. Conway had taken hostages inside the home and shot one person before law enforcement arrived. Inside, officers found 19-year-old Joshua M. Conway had taken hostages and shot at least one person. Conway died from a self-inflicted gunshot when officers entered, and 29-year-old Michael C. Gul was found deceased, having been shot inside the home. Michael Gul had been a part-time Park District employee in Buffalo Grove and Des Plaines, Illinois, and was set to serve as a summer camp supervisor. According to a GoFundMe created by family, he is survived by a wife and two young children and was described as a caring father whose death was “a cruel and senseless act of violence.”

He was transported to Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, where he was pronounced dead at 5:27 a.m. The incident is under investigation by state police and local authorities.

On 03/08/2025, at approximately 1:39 a.m., a fight broke out inside the Mansion Nightclub at 3801 W. Lake St. in Stone Park, Illinois. During the altercation, a security guard discharged a firearm once, striking 21-year-old Zulma Daniela Calderon Pacheco in the face. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Reports indicate that Pacheco was not involved in the fight that led to the shooting. The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office ruled her death a homicide.
The security guard was taken into custody but later released. As of now, it is unknown whether charges will be filed against him. The investigation is ongoing.

She was transported to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, where she was initially listed in critical condition. Smith succumbed to her injuries on 03/05/2025. The Glenview Police Department, in conjunction with the North Regional Major Crimes Task Force Major Crash Assistance Team, is investigating the incident.
