On October 22, 2025, officers from the Kansas City Police Department responded to North Kansas City Hospital, where police had engaged a detained man in an altercation during a confrontation with police and hospital security. Officers responded to a business on Olive Street in Aurora after reports that Bowman was intoxicated and threatening patrons. On the evening of 09/07/2025, deputies from the Boone County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to the 200 block of Railroad Street in Harrisburg for a domestic disturbance involving a weapon. Witnesses reported that the individual, later identified as Ty B. Lewis, was displaying a firearm in a threatening manner. Deputies arrived on scene just after 9:00 p.m., issued commands, which he allegedly ignored, and moved toward the deputies. Officers then fired, fatally striking Lewis. No deputies were injured. On May 4, 2025, around 12:15 p.m., Lebanon Police Department officers responded to a reported shooting at a residence in the 400 block of North Monroe Street. They found a woman outside with a gunshot wound. She was hospitalized. The armed man, Roger Starnes, barricaded himself inside. A standoff ensued and the Missouri State Highway Patrol SWAT team responded. After hours of attempted negotiations, officers entered the home and found Starnes dead from a gunshot wound.

On May 2, 2025, 36-year-old Dustin J. Johnson allegedly shot his ex-wife’s current husband during a domestic dispute in the Argosy Casino parking lot in Riverside, Missouri. He fled in a rented U-Haul truck. Riverside Police and Platte County deputies pursued him onto I-29, where Kansas City Police deployed stop sticks. After the vehicle was disabled, officers negotiated with Johnson for 30 minutes. He exited the vehicle with a gun and pointed it at officers. Two Riverside officers and a Platte County deputy opened fire and killed him. The original shooting victim survived. The Missouri State Highway Patrol is assisting in the investigation.

On April 16, 2025, 52-year-old Shane Barendregt was involved in a police pursuit in the St. Louis area. During the chase, he fell from the Stan Musial Veterans Memorial Bridge into the Mississippi River. His body was recovered in Cape Girardeau on April 17, 2025. The Illinois State Police confirmed they are investigating the incident but were not involved in the pursuit. On April 13, 2025, at approximately 1:40 a.m., Jasper County Sheriff's deputies responded to a domestic disturbance on County Road 70 in Jasper, Missouri. Upon arrival, they encountered 43-year-old Gavon Newton, who had forcibly entered his ex-girlfriend's residence and was reportedly damaging property and threatening her. Deputies observed Newton holding a knife. Attempts to subdue him with tasers were unsuccessful. As Newton advanced toward the deputies, one deputy discharged his firearm, striking Newton multiple times. Deputies provided medical aid until EMS arrived. Newton was transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries on April 19, 2025. The Missouri State Highway Patrol is conducting the investigation.

During the ensuing foot pursuit. Police engaged in a shootout and killed Robertson.
