On 05/10/2025, around 1:30 a.m., Cushing police attempted a traffic stop when they noticed a firearm in the vehicle driven by Curtis Russell. Russell refused to provide identification and continued driving. Officers pursued him through Cushing and into Lincoln County. A deputy later located Russell at a rural property at East 790 Road and 3500 Road. Russell exited the vehicle, ordered the deputy to leave, and fired at him. The deputy retreated and called for backup. Russell continued shooting when Oklahoma Highway Patrol and other officers arrived. Troopers opened fire and killed him.

James Peterson, 50, of Ponca City, died after crashing during a police chase in Woodward. Officers attempted to stop Peterson, who was wanted on a felony warrant and had a suspended license. Peterson refused to stop, and police initiated a pursuit. A tactical vehicle intervention, a.k.a. PIT maneuver, was used, causing Peterson to veer off the road and hit a tree. On May 4, 2025, Tulsa police officers responded to a chaotic shooting scene near East 2nd Street South and South Elgin Avenue during a large gathering. At approximately 1:30 p.m., Logan County deputies responded to a domestic disturbance near Seward Road and Midwest Boulevard. The call involved a separated married couple. Deputies made contact with a woman at the home who briefly spoke with them before closing the door. A man, described as being in his early 40s, emerged from the back of the residence and opened fire on deputies, striking two. A third deputy returned fire and killed the man. Upon arrival, they found 32-year-old Jesse Mendoza with a gunshot wound; he was transported to a local hospital where he later died from his injuries. The investigation identified 28-year-old Joseph Tyler Layton as the shooter, leading to the issuance of a felony arrest warrant.
