On 12/18/2025 Gwinnett County Police Department officers responded to a residence on Lockridge Drive NW at the request of mental health clinicians assisting Christopher Richard Stalker. Officers attempted to talk with Stalker after clinicians determined he needed transport to a facility and he refused. During the encounter Stalker pulled out a knife and walked toward an officer after commands to drop the knife. An officer shot Stalker multiple times. Stalker was taken to a hospital where he died from his injuries. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is conducting an independent review.

On 12/18/2025 law enforcement executed a felony warrant at a home on Edendale Circle in Katy. Members of the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Homicide and CSI units, Texas DPS Criminal Investigations Division, and the U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task Force were involved in serving the warrant. Officers breached the door and heard a gunshot inside. They found the man in the master bedroom with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. Medics were called but he was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators from the Texas Rangers and Harris County Sheriff’s Office are reviewing the incident.

On 12/18/2025 California Highway Patrol officers pursued a vehicle in the San Fernando Valley. The pursuit continued onto Interstate 210 where the fleeing vehicle crashed and caused a multi car collision. One person died at the scene and three more were critically injured. Officers arrested the fleeing driver after the crash. The pursuit and collision remain under investigation.

On 12/18/2025, a deadly crash occurred in West Seneca involving an off duty Cheektowaga police officer. The collision resulted in the death of one person. Because the crash involved a police officer, the New York Attorney General’s Office of Special Investigation assumed control of the case. On 12/17/2025 deputies with the Augusta County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit went to serve an arrest warrant in the 800 block of Parkersburg Turnpike near Staunton. When officers made contact the situation turned violent and gunfire was exchanged. One deputy was shot in the upper arm and airlifted to the University of Virginia Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect, later identified as 42-year-old Dustin Griffin, was provided life-saving measures at the scene but was pronounced deceased. The Virginia State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation is reviewing the shooting.

On 12/17/2025 Illinois officers pursued a vehicle driven by a man identified as a person of interest in a Wisconsin homicide. During the pursuit the driver left the roadway near Interstate 80 by Princeton. When officers approached the vehicle they found the man dead with an apparent self inflicted gunshot wound. Wisconsin authorities confirmed his connection to the homicide investigation. Illinois State Police are reviewing the pursuit and Bureau County officials are assisting.
