Around 6:00 a.m., Oklahoma City Police attempted to serve a search warrant for sex crimes at a home near Southeast 59th Street and Bryant Avenue. A male exited the rear of the home with a pistol. During a foot chase, police confronted him and opened fire. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The investigation is ongoing.

Officers deployed tear gas into the building. During the operation, a Greenville police officer shot and killed a person. On June 4, 2025, Greenville Police shot and killed a man in Hamilton, North Carolina, after an hours-long armed standoff. Deputies first encountered the man driving a pickup truck with a shotgun. He barricaded himself inside a residence on Front Street and fired multiple rounds. Greenville Police Emergency Response Team was deployed. Around 1:45 a.m., police shot and killed him. The State Bureau of Investigation is reviewing the case.

On June 4, 2025, Breele Jahiem Johnson, 22, was killed at the Bibb County Jail in Macon, Georgia. He was stabbed during a violent altercation inside the facility and later pronounced dead at a local hospital. Four other detained individuals were also injured. On June 4, 2025, Adam Christopher Torrens, 59, died at a Jacksonville hospital while in the custody of the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office. Torrens was arrested on May 17 in Clay County on a violation of probation to a prior charge of domestic assault. After his arrest, he was hospitalized in Clay County and, upon transfer to Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office custody on May 19, was taken directly to a Jacksonville hospital, where he remained until his death. The cause of death has not been released, and the incident is under investigation.

On June 4, 2025, John Robert Esler, 71, died at Tampa General Hospital after being found in medical distress in his cell at the Falkenburg Road Jail in Tampa, Florida. He was discovered shortly before 11 p.m. on June 3 and was initially treated at the jail's medical unit before being transferred to the hospital. His condition worsened, and he was pronounced dead around 3 p.m. the following day. Esler had been in custody since March 2024 on charges of sexual battery and lewd and lascivious molestation of a person under 12. He had pleaded not guilty and was being held without bail at the time of his death. The Medical Examiner’s Office is determining the cause of death.

At 12:59 a.m., Wolcott Police responded to a call about a man "freaking out" on Dale Avenue. Officers found Joseph Jackson behaving erratically and speaking incoherently. Jackson was handcuffed despite resistance. EMS arrived and administered a sedative. While in the ambulance, Jackson went into cardiac arrest. He was taken to Saint Mary’s Hospital in Waterbury and pronounced dead at 2:32 a.m. Officer Bryan Spiotti’s body camera recorded the incident. The Inspector General is investigating and an autopsy was conducted; results are pending.

Deputies responded around 12:52 a.m. to a call about a suicidal man, later identified as Christopher Knels, at a residence on Interstate Avenue North in East Fairview. Other individuals in the residence were safely evacuated. Deputies attempted to contact Knels without success and called in the Williams County Negotiation Task Force. The task force reached Knels by phone, but he later exited the residence and pointed a firearm toward law enforcement. A McKenzie County deputy opened fire, striking Knels several times. He retreated into the residence, where deputies found him and attempted medical aid. Knels was transported to Sidney Health Center and pronounced dead. A firearm was recovered near his body. A Memorial Villages officer attempted a traffic stop for a vehicle with no taillights. The driver did not stop and sped away. Officers saw the vehicle again later and tried to stop it a second time, but the driver again refused to stop. Memorial Villages police have a no-chase policy and did not pursue. The driver continued at high speed and ran a red light at Fondren and Westheimer, crashing into multiple vehicles. His car burst into flames, and he was pronounced dead at the scene. Multiple people in other vehicles were hospitalized. Houston police are investigating.

A woman with head and neck injuries was evacuated safely and told officers that a man inside the home was armed. The man barricaded himself in the basement. Evergreen Park police responded to a reported stolen vehicle at the Speedway gas station at 3040 W. 95th Street. A woman was taken into custody inside the station. Meanwhile, a man drove off in the vehicle. Police pursued him eastbound on 95th Street. During the chase, the man crashed into another vehicle at 95th Street and Campbell Avenue. He was transported to a hospital and died. The other driver was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police responded around 5:00 a.m. to a report that four individuals left AAA Diner without paying. Officers stopped the group’s Uber on Main Street. One 17-year-old male fled on foot. Officers chased him briefly before hearing a gunshot. He was found with a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the leg and a stolen firearm nearby. As officers approached, a Latino male exited the home and opened fire. Officers returned fire. A female officer was shot and hospitalized in stable condition. The man was shot and taken to a hospital where he died. The shooting is under investigation by the Texas Rangers, El Paso Police Crimes Against Persons Unit, and Internal Affairs.

On June 1, 2025, around 8:10 a.m., Cpl. Damion Allen of the Fulton County Police Department was providing security at the Heritage Station Apartments at 765 McDaniel Street SW in Atlanta. A bystander alerted the officer to someone breaking into his marked patrol vehicle. The person, identified as 51-year-old Elieser Rivera Jr. of Passaic, New Jersey, had allegedly broken the window. When confronted, Rivera was reportedly armed with a piece of flat metal and advanced toward the officer despite repeated commands to drop it. Cpl. Allen opened fire, killing Rivera at the scene. On May 31, 2025, at approximately 1:45 a.m., a Monroe Police Department officer attempted to stop a suspicious vehicle on Old Charlotte Highway near Rocky River Road. The driver, identified as 18-year-old Joshua Hayden Sikes, did not stop. Police escalated a chase that ended on Goldmine Road near River Chase Drive, where Sikes exited the vehicle and opened fire on officers, striking a female officer multiple times. She was transported to a Charlotte hospital and is in stable condition.

Sikes fled into a wooded area. Police organized a manhunt involving K9 units, drones, and assistance from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department helicopter. At approximately 3:52 a.m., officers located Sikes, who was armed with a rifle. He fired at officers, who opened fire, fatally wounding him.
Subsequent investigations revealed that Sikes was Possibly involved in an earlier homicide.

On May 31, 2025, Johnathan Findley, 38, was identified as the person involved in a double homicide in Gilchrist, Texas. Witnesses said Findley had argued with 45-year-old Eric Dopp and 24-year-old Wisdom Hall before shooting and killing both. He drove away in a white vehicle. A multi-agency search located him later that evening on the I-10 service road in Beaumont. During a standoff, Findley refused to surrender and died from a self-inflicted gunshot.

Cornelius Jesse Johnson Jr., known professionally as NewAge Jerkboy, was a 31-year-old rapper from Fort Lauderdale. In late May 2025, while involved in a public disturbance he was bitten by a police dog during an encounter with the Fort Lauderdale Police Department. Johnson died on May 30, 2025, from complications related to the bite.

The driver did not stop, and police escalated a chase that lasted until the vehicle, an Aston Martin registered in Irvine, crashed into a pole at Soto Street and Washington Boulevard in Boyle Heights. On May 29, 2025, Albuquerque Police Department SWAT officers located 39-year-old Jorge Dominguez at the Comfort Suites hotel near the Albuquerque Sunport. Dominguez retreated into his hotel room, broke a window, and jumped out. APD deployed K-9 officer Rebel, who bit Dominguez. Dominguez produced a handgun. Police engaged him in a shootout during which he was shot and killed. Canine Rebel also died from gunshot wounds. It is unclear who shot the dog.

On May 29, 2025, around 1:00 a.m., police responded to a 911 call regarding a domestic disturbance on East Tappen Street in the Port Reading section of Woodbridge Township. Aamir Allen, 35, of Carteret, allegedly violated a restraining order and used a baseball bat to destroy the windows of a woman’s SUV. He also reportedly assaulted the woman. Allen fled to a convenience store on Port Reading Avenue and was holding a baseball bat when confronted by officers. Sergeant Marco Bruno opened fire, striking Allen. He was transported to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 9:21 a.m. The New Jersey Attorney General’s Office is investigating.

On May 29, 2025, Greenville County deputies, assisting the Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office, attempted to apprehend 51-year-old Johnny Andrews Collins, who was on Spartanburg County’s Most Wanted list. Acting on a tip, deputies located Collins in a wooded area off Cannon Road in Greer. Upon contact, Collins, who was armed, was shot and killed by deputies. His body was recovered from the wooded area. Five deputies involved have been placed on paid administrative leave, and the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division is investigating the incident.

On May 29, 2025, a Georgia State Patrol trooper attempted to stop a driver for not wearing a seatbelt on Remington Avenue. The driver, James Edward Roberts, 34, of Jacksonville, fled at high speed through city streets. He lost control of his Lincoln MKS, crashed into a culvert, and the vehicle overturned. At approximately 12:50 a.m. on May 28, 2025, a delivery driver in Manchester, New Hampshire, reported a stolen 2014 Toyota Corolla. About an hour later, a Manchester officer spotted the vehicle without headlights and attempted a stop. The driver did not stop. Police escalated a chase, which was terminated on the highway but the vehicle crashed on the Kilton Road off-ramp in Bedford. The 13-year-old driver and a 14-year-old girl passenger were ejected from the vehicle. The boy was pronounced dead at the hospital. The girl was seriously injured. Neither was wearing a seatbelt. The boy was a student at Southside Middle School in Manchester. Investigation ongoing.
