Retired Cook County probation officer Cathleen Lee, 65, opened fire on her former daughter-in-law Marissa Galloway, 45, killing her as Galloway was securing an infant stroller in a car. There had been a fight between them over custody of the child. Lee then died by suicide using the same gun. The murder-suicide was witnessed by the child.
