On 11/14/2025, officers with the Vivian Police Department attempted to serve a warrant at a residence on North Pine Street. The man inside opened fire on the officers. One officer was struck by gunfire and taken to a hospital where he later died. The shooting remains under investigation by outside agencies.

On 11/14/2025, Deputy Joshua Dunaway was riding his motorcycle north on LA 44 when he struck the rear of a GMC Sierra that had entered the roadway from Lee Drive. He suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

On 11/14/2025 just before 2 a.m., the Denver Police Department responded to a burglary-in-progress call at the Advenir at French Quarter apartments on S. Parker Road. Officers located a male inside a storage shed holding a large object that appeared to be a knife. They ordered him to drop it and exit. Instead he re-armed and advanced toward the officers and they discharged their weapons, striking and killing him.
